Wasn’t initially greeted but got seated quickly after. There was no booths available to what we were told but looking around it was not full, seated in a tight space with a stroller and high chair needed just made seating uncomfortable. The people sat beside us probably felt the same as they couldn’t move their chairs without hitting mine. There were several people who came to take the order or place food so unsure who the actual server was but the last one we were given was great, prompt with drinks. Food came out within minutes of ordering it and the plates were hotter than the food, makes me wonder if it was microwaved and for the price I’d expect not. I got the polo loco and the rice was mostly good but the chicken was rubbery. My husband got flautas and the guacamole was good but overall was disappointed in the dryness of them. Menu: regular drinks not listed on menu, first server that took drink order wouldn’t tell us what they had available so we played the guessing game “do you have this, do you have that.” I wanted a margarita before arriving but lost hopes when they couldn’t even tell me what sodas or other drinks were available, sadly did not end up with a margarita.
I visited the Madison location after an exhausting day/night before. We were placed in a large booth with my newborn and toddler, plenty of space which made me happy. We had a great server who was prompt with orders and drinks. My toddler got the pollo loco and had plenty to bring home for later. My husband got the mole, I had to steal some and it tasted just like his mom would make, a great taste of home away from home! I got the fajitas and they were the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve been in half of the US states with hispanic cuisine being my go-to everywhere! I would definitely visit the Madison...
Read moreMy recent visit to Phil Sandoval’s left me with mixed feelings. While the service was commendable and the ambiance was clean and friendly, the quality of the food was disappointing.
Let's start with the positives: The service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and prompt in addressing our needs. They made us feel welcomed and provided a pleasant dining experience.
The restaurant itself was well-maintained and had a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was evident that efforts were made to create a comfortable environment for diners.
The ground beef dish I ordered had an off-putting taste, reminiscent of cat food. The meat seemed poorly seasoned, lacking flavor, and had an unusual aftertaste. Additionally, the queso had a peculiar taste resembling flour, with an unexpected aftertaste. The presence of chunks of the same ground beef in the queso further diminished the overall dining experience. While the homemade tortillas were a highlight, the inconsistency and underwhelming flavors in some of the dishes, particularly the ground beef and queso, were disappointing.
Despite the unsatisfactory food, I appreciate the effort put into maintaining a clean and friendly establishment. The restaurant's service deserves praise, but it's crucial for them to address the quality of...
Read moreJose was my waiter and he done a fine job of waiting on us, just want to say that first of all. Nice place that was fairly busy but slowing down by the time we arrived so shouldnt have been a problem w anything as I see it. Problems: For the price smaller portions than expected, both from kids meals and entrees. All meals where slightly warm and the waiter brought out food relatively fast, so I dont think he let the food sit after it was prepped. Daughters beans was very cold and quesadilla was almost cold as she said. Nachos hardly had enough cheese to taste and actually tasted beans over cheese or the chicken. Not what I would call a good mix. Pork tamales according to my son was bland w hardly any taste of pork, he said he mostly tasted the jalapenos above all and then the sauce. Conclusion: I eat Tex-Mex 4-5 times a week. Not including fast food places such as Taco Bell. We drove from gadsden to eat and was disappointed highly. Even though chips(although not for dipping; break to easily), salsa and cheese dip where good just not enough to recommend anyone else or for me to drive there again to eat. Thank you, Hope for improvement as though your restaurant was busy I could see improvements that might improve your business unless I just happened to visit on a very...
