I ordered the Vegan King. My first inkling that I'd made a mistake was when the server reached for the tofu. I thought, "surely that uncooked looking white cube has been marinated in something or SOMETHING!" But no. It was tossed in a bowl with some sauce, stirred around a bit and then added to my bowl of unseasoned vegetables. Ya'll! I was charged $11 for a bowl of dyed rice, a quarter of an avocado, 6 cherry tomatoes, uncooked, unmarinated, plain white cubes of tofu and a few other equally underwhelming ingredients. It took a liberal dousing of sriracha, soy sauce, and salt to coax any type of flavor out of that heap!
My fiance ordered a build-your-own bowl and even though the man ordered just about every ingredient they had in the place (no, he has not heard of restraint) even he said that his bowl was bland and flavorless. We both ordered drinks, which we probably wouldn't have done if we'd realized their drinks are all made from powder. He had the mango, a complete fail, and I had the thai tea, which was decent.
All in all, we spent over $30 on a meal we both agreed was pretty basic. And that's the only reason I'm giving them less than a basic 3 stars: you can be expensive or you can be basic but you...
Read moreThe first 3 times I ate here, the food was great and the service was good. The ramen is awesome and the pokebowls are really fresh and good.
The reason this gets 3 stars... The last 2 times I have eaten here, the ramen I ordered was microwaved in the back. I heard the beeping of buttons, told my friends they were microwaving the ramen, and we all heard the beeps and the sounds of microwave openning and closing. It took 15 minutes to get our food, it came to us cold, and it tasted like spoiled leftovers (because od course it did).
Another reason for 3 stars is because I have seen people standing in line waiting to order for upwards of 10 minutes while employees are in the back laughing and listening to videos, not even bothering to check the front.
This is frustrating because I enjoyed this place until I started getting leftover, microwaved ramen. I can do that at home for $3... And faster than...
Read moreI was so excited when a poke bowl place opened up near my work at research park and it did not disappoint! I think I ate here every day for a week when I first discovered it. I've been to few similar poke places (local and not) and this one is the best I've found. Great, fresh food, and lots of good options - I recommend purple rice (which just tastes like regular rice but it's purple) and I love the option for cilantro since I am a cilantro fiend. Only thing is I would not use their option for Grub Hub because I have had late/no show deliveries with them which I assume is due to there not being many delivery drivers in the area (compared to Grub South who I've never had an issue with), and some of their pricing is messed up on the online ordering Grub Hub site. I just go in store and get to-go and it's just as fast and easy. But for things within their...
