First time at Q was last night on NYE! Me and my friends were a party of 6. If you are familiar with korean bbq, the table looks just as expected and was very clean with an assortment of sauces. The vent for smoke above the grill was extremely helpful. I sat next to the sushi conveyor belt, which was also notably clean, appetizing looking, and had new plates circulating on it often. I had about 5 plates off the belt including salmon nigiri and i think yellowtail or albacore tuna (it was a white fish), and both were very delicious, fresh in taste and look, and well-made.
We chose food from the Silver collection. My table ordered LA Galbi, Spicy bbq steak, beef bulgogi, spicy pork belly, shrimp, and lemon chicken. All the meat was very well seasoned and you could tell it was marinated for a while, so well that we struggled to know if the chicken was done cooking based on feel because it was very tender. The shrimp was well cleaned and came deveined with no shell, just tail. I would say the galbi was my favorite, and i would absolutely order again, as the meat had excellent fat to meat ratio and you can tell it was marinated for a very long time. The flavor was my favorite.
The sides (banchan) were just okay. The taste of the kimchi (which seemed on the fresher side) was good for some that aren't adjusted to the strong flavor of fermented food. As a kimchi fiend, i personally like a more sour kimchi with my meat for bbq- that didnt stop me from eating it whatsoever. The seasoning was good, maybe slightly less salty than im used to, but the flavor is there. Not very spicy.
The mu (radish) dishes were my favorite. the mussam and mu chae are probably what i ate the most of. cucumber was my second runner up- nicely salty and sweet. all these colder, pickle-y dishes were delicious, refreshing and slightly vinegary. The lettuce for wrapping was a big hit as it was very fresh and vibrant looking. The bean sprouts, salad (것저리) and broccoli side dishes were just okay; i felt they lacked in flavor a little. I wouldve liked a little more flavor especially on the salad, as its only flavor note was sweet. Fried dumplings were delicious as well. I would say my least favorite was the rice cakes (떡볶이) as i felt the sauce they were in was a bit weak, and my hot green tea because it was also a bit weak.
For our friends birthday they brought us free cheesecake with a strawberry, and the staff were very generous in giving us parting gifts- we received a cute keychain with the restaurant name on it, and we also were given a korean yogurt drink (like yakult, good for digestion) for free. the staff helping us were very attentive, polite, well informed, and changed our grill pan out as needed. he also assisted a little with cooking initially and even asked if we knew how things worked at kbbq.
Overall my experience with this kbbq was significantly better compared to a competitor in town (i was sorely disappointed there) and i will definitely be back to try the Gold selection and...
Read moreI took my wife here because she wanted to try another korean bbq restaurant, we’ve been to many. This is by far the worst one that we have ate at but not only that it’s the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to in my entire life. I have no idea how this has over a 4 star review, it should have 0 stars if possible. All the positive reviews must be fake or something. We came around lunch time and there were several groups eating but after we got seated more came in so you’d think the food would be fresh but that couldn’t be more wrong. After we got seated we had to wait a while for our server to ask what we wanted to drink which there is a button you can press to notify them but you shouldn’t have to especially just to get drinks after the host seats you. The server apologized however his excuse for the wait was unacceptable because it was just him talking to coworkers. Anyhow he asked what sides and meats we wanted and brought them out to us. First we tried the sides and sushi. All the sides he brought to us were not fresh and you can especially tell with the fried dumplings because they were cold and stale. Even the rest of the sides like the house salad and kimchi, which my wife loves kimchi were terrible; she couldn’t even eat it and neither could I. The sushi we grabbed from the revolving plates were disgustingly bad and old. No telling how long they were sitting there which was possibly days. So we asked the server to bring us some that wasn’t on there and all of it was just as bad. Now on to the meats. We ordered spicy chicken, cajun shrimp, and galbi ribs. All of it was extremely bland even with the seasonings on them. The shrimp was like biting into a rubber bullet that tasted like the smell of sewage. You would be better off eating the radioactive shrimp from Walmart than the shrimp from here as it tastes better I’m sure and still probably healthier. This place needs to be investigated by the health department for how poorly the food is being served and how old it is. We couldn’t eat anything from this place without flushing it down with a drink or spitting it out. It took longer for us to be served our drinks than it took to finish spitting this monstrosity they call “food” out of our mouths then we asked for the check and the server asked if the “food was at least good” and I didn’t say anything and he even asked it a second time to which I still didn’t reply because I didn’t want to be rude. After my wife and I left our stomachs were upset and I had explosive diarrhea from eating the little food I had from this place. AVOID...
Read moreFIrst of all, this resturant just recently opened for business and shocked at what you are about to experience. I visited this resturant during lunch. As you entered the resturant you are amazed of decor inIde the resturant. Not. It is basically, just an empty room. Nothing special. A dark room with lights. You are greeted by a waiter (half English speaking) that brings you to your table next to the rotary sushi and Korean BBQ on your table. You are then given a menu. Just remeber, you are eating either the all you can eat rotary sushi or the Korean BBQ or BOTH. I decided to eat BOTH (the all you can eat) But, then I changed my mind and decided just to have the all you can eat sushi. WHY YOU ASK? Before you start enjoying your meal. You will need to order from the menu and decide which selection of sushi and meats that you want for BBQ (that is all you can eat) or you will be charged more money if you oder or chose the wrong meat selection. Make sure that read the menu carefully. Each meat selection on the menu has its price set for both the rotary sushi and BBQ or both. The prices may vary depending on your apeptite and what you are willing to spend. Oh, Credit cards are always welcome. Things to look forward to: First, the cook will sometime prepare a sushi that is not your favorite and it may take a while before your favorite sushi is made and place on the rotary. Secondly, Your favorite sushi has run out. Then what? chose another sushi. Third, You neck is tired turning( back and forth) looking at the rotary for your favorite sushi, but with no avail. Does this mean your meal is over. The cook need to prepare all the different selection of sushi and place them on the rotary to be eatten and enjoyed. It seemed the cook want the sushi already on the rotaty to be eaten (finished) first before starting a new batch of (new) sushi. The rotary sushi just goes round and round with no sushi made. So, therefore, I rate this resturant POOR; RIPOFF AND STINGY ON THEIR FOOD. Not what to expect to see at a KOREAN owned Resturant. So, if you decide to eat at this establishment just keep in mind that you will be just sitting and waiting for your favorite sushi to pass by but with no avail. Your meal will only last for a mere 10 minutes because the cook would watch over your favorite sushi (dish) and say they have just run out. SERIOUSLY. Keep in mind that you are paying $25.00 for a buffet (all you can eat sushi) but it is not enough to fill your apetite and/or enjoy your meal. Your money, your...
