I just want to be clear that this one star review is for service and management not for food. The food at five guys has always been five stars for me. My family decides after church that they want five guys for lunch. Before I leave I try to do door Dash pick up. Unfortunately there are some things on the door Dash app that I could not specify that was needed and specific to my family‘s order. So instead I say I will just go and walk in to order it there. When I arrive I realize that I have made grave error in forgetting my mask. They are no longer required at my church so I wasn’t wearing one to begin with. I unfortunately did not have any in my car as back up like I normally do. Encouragingly I look at the door that has not one not two but four signs that say if I don’t have a mask that they can do curbside pick up from their app or over the phone. I’m literally sitting outside of the five guys at this point. I give them a call it rings until it goes to voicemail in which I’m informed there’s no voicemail set up which I found amusing. So then I download their app the 5 Guys specific app. and as seen in the picture I’ve uploaded the app says this Location does not do curbside pick up at all. Do you see where my frustration has begun? The handmade signs on the door are telling me one thing and the app is telling me another thing. At this point I am getting ready to wrap my face in an old T-shirt as a mass. But as I’m doing that I see a mother and her two daughters walk in to the five guys only to be quickly ushered out buy one of the employees. I asked the ladies what they said and why they usher them out. Her response was they said “there has been ‘an accident’ and they are in the process of closing for the day.” As I call my wife to figure out what our back up options for lunch are, I see not one but two people walk in and receive huge bags of orders that they have placed online and are picking up in store. This was frustrating because I began to wonder maybe I could just try to finish it online and then walk in with my makeshift mask, but based on the new information I just learned about this mysterious accident. I didn’t want to wait around to find out. What I have left with was wondering is why can’t five guys function on a minimal crew? This is not the first time a five guys has been shut down for an accident or technological failure. I’ve seen other fast food chains function with a minimum of three people going full swing. Why can’t five guys? There is at least five people working on the inside none of them looked injured. This happened 15 minutes after they opened for the day! So one accident has lost them an entire days worth of sales. My only guess would be that it was a functional piece like the oven or the deep fryer. But they were still excepting online orders so that doesn’t check out. I’m just frustrated why five guys can’t get it together. This is the 2nd to 3rd time in the last six months that I’ve had issues at more than one location. Going forward I don’t know if I’ll ever see it as being worth the...
Read moreLet me just say that I really love Five Guys especially for fries I find their food to be very tasty. However, when I got my food I returned it immediately
the person who rang up my order also made my burger. This person sneezed acouple of times at the register, granted they turned their face and sneezed into their shirt no issue there. When they were making my burger they didn't change gloves from doing the cash register to handling food and proceeded to wipe their nose with the back of their gloved hand. They didn't get new gloves or wash thier hands. I'm sorry but I don't want to get sick. When I went to the manager 5 minutes later and explained to them what happened they didn't seem the least bit concerned or alarmed that the employee had wipped thier nose on a gloved hand and then proceeded to handle food. They didn't talk to them after the fact and they didn't tell them to go wash their hands or nothing. I got my money back for the food but they kept the tip which I found irritating. Could you just please inform them that if they are handling stuff at a register and then handling food they need to change gloves and if they sneeze or touch their hair their shirts or their face with the gloves they need to change those gloves. I don't want anybody to get sick from...
