GREAT PLACE! Everything is made from scratch and easily veganizable (if it isn't already). The menu is pretry solid with burgers, nachos, juices and desserts. The back even has herbs you can buy in bulk. I found this place through a vegan group and it's so good to have more options like this near uchicago. While it is a bit of a commute for me, I'm sure it is a hit with students and locals nearby. We got a smoothie- the berry one & raw chocolate cheesecake. I have only had vegan cheesecake once before (from Alice & Friends) and this one was SO good. I could have easily ate two slices but I didn't want to spoil my dinner. As for the restaurant itself, you have to walk to the back to order (but you get to pass the kitchen and see exactly how made from scratch everything is! It's serioudly sooo fresh) and there's paintings all over the exposed brick walls. 5/5 would return again.

first time in here and I gotta say... this is a must place! the cutest hidden gem in Hyde Park. very accommodating with all dietary needs. I have a gluten allergy and they took it seriously by cooking my food separately. in the picture is the plant lovers bowl and the banana pudding shake, it was fenomenal the bowl was so savory and the most perfect smoothie I ever had no joke WOW mwah above 5 stars!!! and then the new yorker sandwich, soft bread savory and fresh ingredients so delicious!! you get so much food for the price, I even took home leftovers!!! the staff are so friendly! so spacious and so cutely decorated! truly felt like comfort from the food we ate and the cafe itself! had the best experience, will be coming back asap it's now a favorite🥰🫶🏼

This place is definitely a hidden gem! Located in Hyde Park, there's not a parking lot, but I got a park right in front! The owner was there and she and her entire staff were super sweet, and polite! I visited with my daughter and a friend. I enjoyed a great conversation with the owner! .... But seriously the best part was the food!!! I enjoyed a delicious potato bowl called Rico Rico, a slice of raw pineapple vegan cheesecake,(which by the way the smooth and creamy texture makes you forget its raw vegan),and a super green fresh pressed juice! The food was PHENOMENAL!!! I always have to take a drive to another neighborhood to get delicious vegan cuisine, now I have one in my own neck of the woods!!!

I love the variety of vegan foods here . My only suggestion is better portion sizes on dishes such as the jackfruit nuggets . I took a picture of my food but I don’t see an option to upload it from my phone. For 8 dollars plus tax I counted 5 slightly over small sized nuggets- very tasty. My smoothie also 15 for a large so everything with tax 25 dollars. This meal could have very much been 15 dollars or 20 even. I love smoothies I usually get a large because it’s a better deal if you enjoy a full smoothie but 15 is a stretch, I make smoothies at home . I treated myself today and supported a business I believe in. I do understand plant based food is prepared with care and quality especially here . All vegan food doesn’t mean expensive though. The market value for jackfruit is reasonable especially how large the fruit is. I had a large smoothie, & I love the smoothies here . I bought some fresh jackfruit from Whole Foods last week and it was sliced . I have two containers with enough for 3-4 meals depending on how I make it and that was less than 8 dollars I spent. The nuggets here should come with more in the container for sure at least 10 I say for paying 8 plus tax. I would more likely just buy a whole jack fruit myself and learn the recipe because it’s a wonderful fruit to cook with and I’d save more on the meals. I feel it will be worth it more for the price it is , this is my 3rd time trying them it’s been a while since the winter . The size of the nuggets and quantity has always been small. Knowing I enjoy the nuggets I would want a few more to feel more satisfied. I supported a black owned business today . The staff is always working to get every order done the owner also is energetic and warm spirited . I love the service in our community. The large smoothies I feel should be 12 dollars . I go here when I have the means to treat myself to this caliber of food and to support. I understand economic changes especially during this time — I would definitely make some changes or have some sales occasionally. The restaurant has inspired me to open a juice and smoothie bar in the near future. God bless and...

Amazing food, amazing people, amazing vibes all around. My boyfriend and I got ourselves their vegan nachos to share together and the taste was really good, made me think of game day nachos but couldn't believe it was vegan! Then I had myself a philly cheesesteak. I don't know about anyone reading this but since I've became vegan, I never thought I'd ever have a philly steak again in my life UNTIL YESTERDAY when I took that bite, I teared up a bit. My man had their breakfast sandwich, which next time we're around again I'm def gonna get that, and he loved it. He really thought there was real sausage in it and I said 'no, it's all vegan' felt like I saw his mind blew up in front of me. And their smoothies? THE BOMB!! 💣💣💣 Best smoothies I have ever had ever! IDC if you are vegan, meat eater or in between, just go to this restaurant once in your life, you will not regret it at all!! It's only open on the weekends, so MAKE TIME if you want to try it out!! #noregrets 10/10 can't wait for it to be open for dine in someday when we are allowed to have dine in 😢 Edit: I need to go back there again, I literally just had a dream about being in B'Gabs, dining in, eating some sort of a cake/sweets. I'm taking it as a sign as "it's been awhile, it's time to go back" food so good, I'm having dreams about...

UPDATE (2020 Jun 28): Per the owner's comment below, we did resolve the issue. I meant to update the review but the pandemic happened. Sorry for the delay and thanks for resolving the issue. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I submitted an online order for breakfast, to drive all the way from Edgewater to Hyde Park, to find out by a note on their door that they were closed and didn't open until 9pm. First of all, why are you still taking online orders when you're closed and secondly, 9pm?! Are those night club hours?! Anyway, there was no way to cancel and their email address on both Square and their website was not valid. 2 days later, I get a notification saying the order was completed. I call up there and I told the lady who answered the phone what happened, where she proceeds to say to me that she thought I picked it up.WHAT?! SO, YOU DONT RECONCILE YOUR BOOKS AND JUST BLINDLY TAKE PEOPLE'S MONEY?! Moreover, who picks up an order for BREAKFAST the next day after they purchase it with the time frame of ASAP?! Then they tell me that they will reverse the charge to only find out by my bank that no reversal was processed nor pending. I will NEVER do business with this...
