As a native Idahoan and growing up in the Idaho Falls area/city limits, this has ALWAYS been a place for us to meet up with friends and family to throw back a few drinks and play some pool. It's usually great service and a lot of fun. Our relatives know the owner, so it makes it a pretty welcoming place overall...Until this time!
In town for the holidays, we decided to brave the snowy streets, piled into the 4 wheel drive pickup to head to Pockets for a little fun after Christmas. It was the same as the last time we visited a couple of years prior (our family goes there often as I mentioned before), so nothing out of the ordinary... Ordered drinks at the bar, set up a couple of tables and began playing pool. There were 5 of us, it was happy hour 2 for 1, which was surprising to us since it was Saturday, but sooo awesome! We ordered a round of shots and chasers and were VERY ready to have fun, eat dinner and just enjoy the time with our family. The bar tender OBVIOUSLY didn't want to be there, and the server was no exception. She came around once to check on us and see if we needed anything, we ordered, but that was it. We had to chase her down after that, and was told "we would have to wait until she came back around" which she never did! She passed us by three more times! Ok, we will just order from the bar tender, we thought, what ever... I went to the bar to order, the bar tender was filling an order, still grumpy, the server was standing in the station next to me waiting for her order when the bar tender asked the guy sitting at the bar in front of me "what do you need man"?, he answered and the bar tender told him "Dude, you are going to have to order from her (cocktail waitress), cuz I'm too F*ing busy". He didn't even acknowledge my presence and ignored me completely! I went back and told my family that they wouldn't even take our order unless we ordered from the server, who never did come by again. So...I went up to the bar, asked for our tab, marked through the tip portion (first time EVER stiffing a server) and we left and went else where...Even though we had planned on staying and having some fun, being ignored isn't fun!
Now, just today, I looked online at our credit card charges and the bar tender charged our credit card for an ADDITIONAL amount equal to what a 20% tip would have been. Not only did we NOT get service, we were ALSO RIPPED OFF!!!
All I have to say is BUYER BEWARE!!! Make sure and check your bills and receipt, marking EXACTLY what you left behind otherwise they will do it for you!

Read morePockets is a great place, the service is just pretty awful if your a female. They have a bartender or server named Coral who is extremely rude. She walked past our group and asked every man, who all already had beers in their hand if they needed anything, while me and two other female friends were standing right there with empty beers. We just went to the bar to go get another drink and ended up standing there for 15 minutes before someone even acknowledges we are there but as we are standing there Coral decided we were in her way. She told us if she has to tell us one more time that we are in her way.... Then the bartender and her sit there right in front of us and decide to talk about how awful we are instead of getting our drinks. If we had been being rowdy... Making a scene ... Not tipping even I would understand but none of that was the case not only were we just sitting there playing pool and every one of us was givng $3 tip for every shot we bought. She needs to pull her head out of her ass when she's at her JOB and treat her CUSTOMERS with maybe an...
