Slow, inaccurate...you name it. Last time I went was before work. I sat in line at the drive-thru behind a woman that was at the speaker. She just sat there. The other line kept moving and finally she got out of her car and yelled "HELLO" at the speaker and banged on it.
We sat there another 5 minutes. I took us another 5 minutes before we could get anyone in the other lane to back up and let us back up away from the speaker and get out of there. The speaker didn't have an "out of order" sign on it, so I assume they just weren't answering it.
Usually I just get ticked off at them for screwing up my order...that day, they didn't even bother to take it. Needless to say, I stopped at Quik Trip that morning and was 15 minutes late to work...
Thanks McDonald's!
Went back again recently (BIG MISTAKE!!!!) I had two gift cards that were given to me and stopped by that morning to get my free Egg McMuffin and a large Dr. Pepper. I told the lady at the Drive Thru that I had a gift card for the Egg McMuffin and she said she'd have my total at the window.
When I pulled around she said my total was $7.48! I told her all that I had was an Egg McMuffin and a large Dr. Pepper and she said, yes, that's $7.48. I reminded her that I had a gift card for the Egg McMuffin and she said Okay and re-rang my order. "That will be $5.48." She said. I asked, "For a Dr. Pepper?" and she asked, "Oh, is that all you wanted?" So I told her yes, and she said it was $1.07 and I pulled up to the next window.... weird....
That night, I went back to use the second gift card, which was for a 20 piece chicken nugget. I told the girl I had a gift card for it and when I handed it to her she said, "Oh, we don't take those." And I told her that I had used one there that morning. She said that it said on the back that it could only be used in the greater Kansas City, St. Joseph area. And I said, "Yes....." And she said, "We're Independence, we're not part of the greater Kansas City area."
I explained to her that yes, we were part of the greater Kansas City area, and she said she'd have to ask her manager. She came back to the window and said that he said "No," they couldn't take that kind of card. I told her I'd used a card like that at their restaurant that very morning for an Egg McMuffin.
She looked at me blankly and said "You can't use a gift card for Chicken McNuggets to get an Egg McMuffin." I took the card back and told her "Nevermind" and drove to the 24 Highway McDonald's where they took the card without even questioning...
Read moreThis review will be more of a personal experience that I encountered on 8/16 around 12 P.M. that left me feeling frustrated for a few reasons, but the rating I've given is overall how I feel about this McDonald's location.
Using the McDonald's app, I ordered a large Caramel Frappe, around $3.99 in cost before taxes. When I gave my mobile order number at the window, I was simply told to pull forward by the man on the intercom. When I got to the window, a very nice lady working the payment window told me they had some water line issues and couldn't serve me a frappe.
No problem whatsoever. I asked if there were any restrictions on what I could replace it with, she said no. So I asked if I could get a drink and a french fry. With drinks being $1.39 now and a medium french fry being $2.89, this would be $4.28 total, even less if I got a small fry. Not a big difference in cost. The lady said she would give me a large fry and large drink. Awesome! She was a superstar and deserves to be recognized for taking the minor issue and resolving it like she did.
What I did not appreciate was whoever was demeaning her inside the restaurant. I'm not positive if it was a manager or a supervisor, but I was constantly hearing "A large fry costs this much, you can't give him that. That's more than what he ordered." and many other things like that. After the 3rd or 4th time hearing it, I told the lady at the food window "If it's that big of a deal, then I'll just pay the difference." ........No response, as do most of the McDonalds employees have. Lately it feels like it takes an arm and a leg to even hear them say "Thank you."
Eventually, I was given my drink and fry and went ahead with my day. However, I can't help but give this review in hopes that the kind lady at the payment window sees this. You handled this minor issue with grace and kindness and deserve 5 stars. The manager/supervisor on duty however, needs to learn how to treat fellow employees with respect and dignity or go find another...
Read moreI literally posted a review on their facebook page 8 months ago, and nothing has changed. They still manage to mess up the order every time, and im pretty sure im eating old food. After eating my very dry mcgriddle, and my half-filled, soggy from the time they were handed to me, fries, im currently eating some of my soggy nuggets from my 20pc and have been tasting vomit this entire time, im not sick, its the food, and i would wash it down with my sweet tea if they had put lite ice as i asked, but instead, as always, the cup was mostly ice, and the sweet and sour sauce tastes like peanut butter. Avoid at all costs unless its the only option. Either go to the 24 hwy mcdonalds or go to walmart or another restaurant depending on the time, save yourself. I have yet to have one good experience with this mcdonalds, tonight i was too tired to cook or drive to 24 hwy so i gave them a chance and was let down aaaaaagain. Not to mention i used two forms of payment, got a complaint from the lady at the pay window (oh good lord she said), and waited several minutes for her to re enter the order, which ive worked fast food, so i understand HER part in this experience. But REALLY?! 8 MONTHS AND STILL NOTHING GOOD TO SAY? (Drive thru experiences only, im always on the go). Im now going to throw away my food and just drink water til im not hungry. Not that theyre actually concerned with customer satisfaction. My mcchickens with cheese were cold too....
