Minsky's Pizza — Restaurant in Independence

I sat down alone for lunch around 1245. I ordered a mini prime cut, an order of mozzarella sticks, and a coke. My mozzarella sticks came out pretty quickly, probably within 5 minutes of ordering them. About 30 minutes later, the waitress said she was checking on my pizza. This probably should have been done sooner, but they were busy and understaffed, so i was trying to be patient. So 15 minutes later, she had not returned; people who were seated after me had eaten and left. The restaurant was pretty empty, so I asked the waitress if she could check on my pizza. It was about 145 when she came back and said it was not ready, but they were just cooking it now. I asked why people who had been seated after me had eaten, paid, and left. She said it was because of what they had ordered. I did not realize it took almost an hour to prepare and cook a mini pizza. I asked to pay for my mozzarella sticks and drink and could hear her yelling to the kitchen I didn't want the pizza. No lady, I was hungry. I wanted the pizza an hour ago when I ordered it. I get it you are understaffed, but if you were so understaffed how can people with multiple people in their parties order, eat , and pay all before you thought to check on my order. I bring my children here about once a month we spend $100 and tip. Guess my family will have to find a new pizza place to spend...

The "manager" Ashley is the reason for 1 star as she could have made things right and chose not to. This has always been one of my favorite places to eat (eating it at least weekly). I've never had any problems and the food has always been very good... until the delivery order yesterday. Half the food was not edible and the other half was wrong and disgusting. When I called today to convey my concerns to this "manager" I was put on the phone with, she offered to do nothing to make things right. Let me tell you, the gyro had 3 slices of meat which are literally more thin than a piece of paper, and they were burnt to a crisp, unable to chew the meat. The gyros pita bread was hard as a rock, also unable to chew. It was missing ingredients too. The rest of the order was wrong and tasted horrible. I couldn't believe she wouldn't offer to do anything for us. Her reason being that it happened yesterday. Well yes Ashley, you're right! It was yesterday! Seeing as how I'm pregnant and very sick this was when I was able to call. Apparently "yesterday" is against policy. What a shame to lose my business. All she had to do was make it right. Very sad. "Manager" Ashley... find a new job. Your people skills are awful. Everyone there has always been so wonderful to me... until now....

Visited on a Sunday Nov 6 2022 at 4:30pm the restaurant was empty.. workers all standing around talking around the carry out counter and then more even sitting at the bar area.

We ordered our usual medium prime cut original crust and was brought out a pizza that was actually still part raw dough. They couldn’t cut it in the back, the crust was barely toasted. We couldn’t even use the server they provide to separate the doughy pieces that appeared to be cut. The managers response was to put it back in the oven, the issue was they didn’t think about the two pieces still on the table. So you reheat a pizza to reserve to the customer and it’s smaller then what they ordered. Hmm think not. The one piece we took a bite off after trying to actually get it into two pieces, was chewy on that one Sïngle bite. We then informed the waitress who then went and asked the manager what to do.

Definitely understand why they were not busy, no customers. It appears serving bad quality food and lack of leadership from management have made this a Minsky’s to avoid. Sad that with all that help… they couldn’t get their one dine in order correct. Needless to say no carry out customers were coming in as well. Hmm wonder why with...
