Boardwalk Bar & Grill: Elevated Coastal Dining with Style, Soul, and Serious Flavor
Tucked just steps from the ocean, Boardwalk Bar & Grill manages to feel at once beachy and sophisticated—a polished, modern space with the laid-back charm of a favorite local haunt. With its brick walls, globe pendant lighting and sleek, open-concept kitchen, the interior strikes a perfect balance between coastal cool and urban edge. Add in the glass-enclosed wine wall and expansive covered patio with ocean breezes, and it’s clear—Boardwalk is designed to impress without trying too hard.
From the moment we stepped in, the tone was set. The hostess greeted us with genuine warmth and ease, immediately making us feel welcome. A stop at the bar revealed a team of bartenders who not only know their way around a well-built cocktail but also bring the kind of friendly energy that invites conversation. The drinks? Creative, balanced, and refreshingly unfussy. Try the Cucumber Freeze or Smoked Banana Rum Handshake if you’re feeling adventurous.
We started with four appetizers, each one thoughtfully executed. The Lamb Lollies—grilled to a juicy medium rare and kissed with a touch of smoke—were tender and aromatic. The Truffle Fries were addictive, generously dusted with pecorino and truffle oil, served hot and crisp. Burrata, paired with blistered cherry tomatoes, pesto and crostini, delivered a creamy, bright opening act. But the sleeper hit? The Smoked Fish Dip—smoky, rich, and perfectly accented with pickled jalapeños, crisp vegetables and assorted breads.
Entrees continued to impress. The Calabrian Spicy Vodka Pasta hit all the right notes—velvety, with just enough heat to keep things interesting. The American Double Smash Burger was a masterclass in simplicity done right, with melted American cheese and tangy sauce on a toasted bun. For seafood lovers, the Scottish Salmon—crispy-skinned and moist—was a standout, elevated further by its vibrant accompaniments. The Roman Brick Chicken, while homey in name, came plated like fine dining: tender, aromatic, and deeply flavorful. And the 36 oz Cowboy Ribeye? Charred beautifully on the outside, impossibly juicy inside —a showstopper worth every bite.
Service throughout was exceptional. Our server struck that rare balance of professionalism and warmth. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and refreshingly unassuming—there when we needed her, never intrusive. The Manager made a point to check in during the meal, his pleasant demeanor and genuine interest in guest satisfaction adding another layer to the overall experience.
Boardwalk doesn’t just deliver on first impressions—it gets better with time. We returned three days later and found everything just as polished, just as flavorful, and maybe even a little more dialed in. In a region brimming with beachside bites, Boardwalk Bar & Grill raises the bar—offering a dining experience that’s both refined and relaxed.
Highly recommended. Whether you’re in the mood for an intimate dinner or just a perfectly crafted cocktail, Boardwalk is the...
Read moreGreat atmosphere Live music Good food Our waitress was ok... When she sat us, she did not go over the fish of the day or any specials. When I ordered, She asked if I wanted everything on my burger and I asked what comes on it and she handed me the menu. I was embarrassed and asked if she could tell me because I didn't bring my glasses. She reluctantly told me the items. I asked for 1 of the sides to be upgraded for an additional cost as it was a favorite of mine and my son's. When the food came, the upgrade was not there. I reminded her that we asked for the upgrade. She argued that we did not. Then she sternly restated there was an upcharge. I reagreed to the upcharge and they removed my son's entire entree, even though the side in question was in a separate container. So, I sat there looking at my plate and waiting for his to return. Once we had both plates, we enjoyed our meal with the exception of the extremely small water glasses. I asked twice for them to be refilled. The first time they were refilled, the 2nd time they were not. At the end of the meal my son requesred a box for his left overs. She said she would box it for him and took his plate. We waited a long time for her to return with the check, to the point my son asked if ge could just wait in the car. When she took my card- which was under my military ID and started to walk away, I asked her If they do a military discount and she said "I thought it was just an ID." She gave me the discount but didn't bring my son's boxed food back. She gave me my receipt and started to walk away, again. I asked about his food. She did admit that she forgot and brought the box quickly. Must have been having a rough day. Our 2 burgers with one truffle fry and water to drink was over $70 before the 10%...
Read moreThe food was very diverse and inspiring. There is something for everyone on the listings. Portion size was average with slightly above average pricing scale. There were no delays in taking orders, bringing drinks to the tables or for the food to arrive-quite impressive for an opening night! The wine list boats 75 selections that were reasonably priced with a nice balance of New and Old Word selections.Unfortunately, they do not have a corkage policy for someone to bring a bottle from the outside. That is surprising since management seems to be wine conscious based on the wine list.I suggested a policy where a person could buy a bottle and bring their own bottle which I believe is a fair compromise.Management said that the corkage policy is still being considered... The service really shined from being greeted immediacy at the door upon arrival. The servers were well polished and obviously had prior restaurant serving experience. We were surprised that a new establishment were able to hire so many experienced people.Someone in management knows exactly what they are seeking in selecting highly skilled staffing. The building itself is an old converted Wendy's. Its obvious that time, money and effort were utilized to transition the building to a more traditional restaurant venue. The interior is noisy but nicely appointed. The music was too loud for our liking and conversation was strained due to the noise level. The outside seating area is more than adequate. One of our friends mentioned that the place needs to decide if it wants to be a fine dining or casual restaurant-it can't be both with the current noise level.Reservations can be made on Open Table. Overall...this a an impressive addition to the dining options...
