The food is decent, but prices have gone up significantly.. even for cheap fried Oreos. I used to work here and my last week my family cat was dying. My parents were on their way home and I didn’t think she would make it when I went to go check on her after I had been there hours earlier to feed her breakfast and meds. I called in to explain that things got progressively worse and that I may be late as I’m very upset and have to inform my parents.
I got to work maybe 10 minutes late.
I got talked to about “you can’t be late over a cat” I heard also “it’s just a cat” well little do they know I got the cat in 2011 and I had it all the way up to 2023.
If you’re new there they will give you the sections that nobody wants to sit at. Meanwhile you will see other servers get many more tables (max I could have is 3) some servers get 4 tables then also half the high top bar tables so 4 tables then anywhere from 1-10 more checks depending on how many different bills groups will have.
If you try to do silverware early or like trays then sometimes you are told you’re doing great. Other times other workers will take your stacks of trays as their own and then you’re forced to redo more.
Those sauces on table? 🤮 sauce is poured into just top of containers every night. They say we will clean one flavor each month but honestly, that wasn’t the case.
They had let go multiple servers the week they had let me go. They had also let go a bar tender of years of service there because “they are going a different direction.”
I was very upset and was not happy where I was at . I’d get tons of tables between rush hours before all servers were there. On my last day it was just me and one other girl serving before the lunch rush crew came in. Of course no set sections and tables all over the restaurant . The managers were in their manager meeting. I had about 6 tables and a customer did not like their pork macaroni. I told her I’d get a manager.
I kept getting stopped by other tables and had tried to locate a manager. When I was not on the floor she had gone up to the bar to demand a manager .
I was let go because she got to a manager before me.
Sharing for those looking for work and wanting to be treated with respect. This place is not it.
I have gone back for food but unfortunately last time will probably be my last time. Our sever Alyssa was excellent! Unfortunately I was upset that they wouldn’t let me mix brisket taco with fish taco , even if I wanted to pay extra. You can do brisket and chicken , chicken and fish, but not fish and brisket.
The fish taco had unripe avocados. I had asked our server to inform the management.. hoping I’d get new avocado I could add to taco but she came to inform me that she had let them know. Didn’t seem like they cared. They didn’t even come out to apologize .
The cost of drinks had sky rocketed as well as all entrees. Even the cheap 1 dollar Oreos that I used to love selling to customers had gone up a crazy amount .
I put low atmosphere rating as the TVs are always too loud and too dark as many people I’ve seen while working there had to pull out their phone flash light to...
Read moreWe came in for dinner on a suggestion from a family member. It was probably some of the best barbecue we have had in a long time. I gave our overall experience 4 stars, mostly because of the sides. I gave the atmosphere 4 stars because it was pretty dark in there for a barbecue place. We weren't going there for romance, we were going there to eat barbecue.
There were a few things that were not great. We ordered the Brussels sprout appetizer, which came out ice cold, but our waitress Natalie, took them back and fixed the problem immediately The manager also came to the table and asked if that was better.
If I was giving the stars based on the meat alone, it would have been five stars for sure. Like I said, we've not had better barbecue in a very long time in florida. The sides, on the other hand we're not fantastic. I love baked beans, and these were very bland and did not taste barbecue at all. Maybe if they would have smoked them, and added some sauce they could have been better. The Hush Puppies were kind of bland as well. There was no flavor or onions or anything in them. It was just dough, but light and fluffy. The green beans were not good at all, same problem. No flavor
We tried the pig candy appetizer, which was okay. It said on the menu it was pork belly, which it was not. It was thick cut bacon, but still okay. Average I would have to say.
Now, all of their sauces and dressing are homemade in house. So I did not personally try any of the dressing, but my sister-in-law did. She had the Ceasar and said it was very good. All of the BBQ sauces were outstanding. Coming from someone who drowns, everything in sauce. The barbecued ribs and meats did not need much sauce at all.
Our server Natalie was fantastic! She checked on us often and made sure that all of our food was correct.
We were impressed at the fact that a full rack of ribs was actually a true full rack of ribs and it was only $37. I got the smoked shredded chicken breast, which in most places would have come out dry. It was not dry at all, it was very good. I even liked the brisket, which in most places I wouldn't eat because it be to fatty for me. When Natalie took our order she even asked me if I preferred lean or fatty brisket, which i've never been asked in any other restaurant before.
We will definitely be back if you're looking for somewhere with good barbecued meats. This is the place to go! We will definitely be back!!
The manager also checked on us a few times and really listened when we talked.

Read moreEau Gallie Blvd in Indiatlantic all of a sudden surprised me with 3 ribs places all within steps of each other. I had to choose one, and try it. I chose Charlie & Jake's purely based on reviews. When I got there I noticed the rib place right next door, looks like a nicer place to drink, but I stuck to my guns and went to Charlie & Jake's which pretty much looked like it was formerly a Taco Bell.
There was a good crowd in here, maybe about 30 percent full. I noticed a good presence of law enforcement in here too, but we're all here for the ribs. I was greeted and sat by one of the 2 young friendly waitresses, Stephanie. Funny thing is that the time between me ordering and getting my food was probably less than a minute. Fastest food turnaround I've experienced.
-=-Ribs-=- These were good, but I've already been spoiled by the best. The baby back ribs fell off the bone as promised and it was tender as well. There were a couple BBQ sauces to choose from and you can dump as much of it as you want since they had large jars at every table. I love it when ribs places do that. I tend to like the more peppery spicy sauces, but here I ended up liking the traditional more. I dumped extra sauce on every bite. A half rack combo was more than enough to fill me up and I was thankful to not have leftovers that I'd inevitably waste since my hotel didn't have a fridge. I would have to try the other ribs places here to know if this was the best, but my stomach would probably rebel against me by the end...
