My wife and I were there on Friday night, we didn't go for a couple of weeks, even though it's our Friday spot. A few weeks ago , we ordered our usual dozen wings and a sampler. We substituted this sampler the same way we had in the past, with NO issues. By the time the sampler came out , instead of 12 items , there were 6 items . By the way , they were just dropped on the table with NO explanation. The waitress, who we have had several times , says I don't know why they only gave you a half an order. So then this bartender Jodi comes over and was extremely rude and disrespectful. She said, we could only substitute 1 item , we responded that we have ordered it this way several times. We asked to see the manager, she responded the owner was cooking. I said, we would like to speak with him, Jodi said ( WITH ATTITUDE ) he already left. I said, if you do not get him , I'll go to the kitchen. AMAZING, another lie , he comes out an tries to tell us Reagan our waitress didn't know. She has been then forever and took the order like any other time. So this Friday February 2nd , it was busy , we had seen some friends there and the hostess seated us and said the bartender Jodi would be waiting on us , considering we we sat in the last booth. We waited and waited, then Reagan brings a beer to us, 20 minutes later , no greeting from Jodi , NOTHING. Then , I hear Reagan tell her that's your table, Jodi says I don't want them , Reagan says, it's your table , Jodi says, I'm not waiting on them. So 15 minutes or so go by again. No one waits on us , I have to stop the waitress and ask who is waiting on us , she said she would. Jodi , obviously is a rude and disrespectful person, that has many issues. I feel bad for her and the idiot owner , he tells us the waitress didn't know, then stated Jodi is abrasive and rude sometimes, what a joke. Yet she still works there.I always said in the service industry, there is no room for people like this bartender, obviously, she isn't happy with herself, so how can you be cordial to others. I've owned businesses my whole life , from the owner all the way down, this was a sad showing of...
Read moreTwo business owners who most definitely care about their guests and staff alike are Heidi Calabrese and her husband Johnny, sole proprietors of Frankie's Wings and Things Beachside. While Heidi and Johnny did everything they could to protect their business as anyone would, they also went the much needed extramile. Heidi and Johnny put the health and safety of their employees and customers FIRST. Johnny and Heidi did what was best to protect the customers and staff they sincerely care about: They closed their doors. For over a month no business came in or went out of Frankie's Wings and Things Beachside. When they could insure a safe environment for their customers and staff, and ONLY when they were able to do so, Frankie's reopened for takeout. And again, only once it was safe to do so, Heidi and Johnny reopened the bar which is open now with full mask and social distancing guidelines FIRMLY in place.
It is clear to me from direct experience that when Frank, the founder of Frankie's Wings and Things passed from this world to the next, he left behind far more than just the keys to the safe. He also gifted to his family a sense of pride in the quality of their work and a sincere fondness for both staff and guests alike. That standard is clearly visible as soon as you walk in the door at Frankie's Wings and Things Beachside. The bar is SPOTLESS. Often times Heidi is personally waiting to greet guests either near or behind the bar with a smile. You can't see the smile behind the mask these days, but you can hear it and you can feel it. The menu is very reasonably priced and the food is delicious. The staff is very attentive and friendly and they clearly enjoy working there. Drinks do not rest empty long on their tables. Frankie's Wings and Things Beachside has stood strongly and firmly by the local community and their food and service is top shelf. I dine there every chance I get....
Read moreWent on a Sunday afternoon with a party of eight, and they were very accommodating. I wish I remembered the server’s name because she was attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed, including drinks that were always filled. We were immediately seated and served a basket of carrots and celery, which was a nice touch to munch on while waiting.
Four people shared 50 wings, which they raved about as fresh and delicious. I had the French dip, which featured a fresh roll packed with plenty of meat and cheese melted perfectly on top. It came with crispy tater tots and a cup of au jus sauce. The sauce was slightly salty, but I’d prefer that over needing to add salt myself. The tater tots were perfectly cooked, crisp on the outside, and fluffy inside.
Another order was the grilled bacon and cheese sandwich, lightly toasted and served with skinny fries that were also hot and fresh. Someone else had a Caesar salad, which was perfectly dressed with fresh greens.
For appetizers, we tried the fried mushrooms and fried zucchini. Both came out piping hot and perfectly fried.
The atmosphere was enjoyable. There were games on, but it wasn’t too loud when we arrived, likely because the big game hadn’t started yet. Parking was convenient as it’s located in a plaza with plenty of space. Overall, it was a great experience and a great local place to just hang out and have some good...
