This Applebee’s is insane. INSANE.
July 21 - Pop in for a quick bite on our way up to Indy for a concert. It takes us forever to get seated in an empty restaurant. Takes even longer for a bartender to acknowledge us (saying she’d be with us in a minute). At least 15 minutes before drinks hit the table. I chalk this up to it being 5:00 on a Sunday, and the shifts might be changing. Little help is to be seen. Never saw a manager. The three of us that went are baffled by the experience as a whole.
August 9 - Pass this establishment on my way from Edinburgh to Columbus right at lunch time with a friend and say “Let’s get some boneless wings.” Get seated quickly in a mostly empty restaurant (again). 5 minutes go by and no one has even passed our table or gone behind the bar. One server is sitting two tables down from us on her phone eating some french fries - Does not acknowledge us at all. I understand we might not have been her assigned table to wait on, but we waited a total of 8-10 minutes before walking out without anyone saying a word.
September 6 - Working in the area, I take a business partner there for the $0.50 boneless wings special. It is an empty restaurant (again) with dirty dishes on the bar rail. Bartender greets us and we order on her first pass to make sure we aren’t waiting forever. Food comes out quickly, but then the bartender disappears. We sit for a good 10 minutes with empty plates and drinks, as the bartender and manager are laughing in eye-shot. Cannot get their attention. They disappear into the kitchen, never to be seen again. I have to get up and ask a slumped over waitress at a booth with a laptop that says “TRAINING” on it if there is anyone that will take my payment. She goes to get the bartender in the back who cannot come out because she is taking a to-go order.

I’ve worked in restaurants for over a quarter of my life, and it baffles me that this establishment is still open. Ask any of my friends -I LOVE me some Bees. But I’ve been spoiled with the location on 25th and Central in Columbus. The staff there is amazing, and that location seems to have a competent management team and franchisee that cares. All Applebees are not equal.
If this is the franchisee owner’s fault, then you have squandered your investment. If this is the management’s fault, I have no idea how you haven’t shuddered the doors. There is just no way this place can be profitable with the assumed comps they have to provide customers for their awful service.
If you’re looking for a job where you don’t have to work at all, this place is likely hiring and has...
Read moreMy daughter and I decided to have a day out, we took an approximate 1 hour drive to Edinburgh premium Mall, we did a little shopping and decided that dinner would be nice. We decided to go to Applebee's which was just across the street. We were immediately seated and it didn't take long for our waitress to come to our table. At this time it wasn't very crowded but the look on our waitress face showed exhaustion. Nonetheless she was very kind, she approached her table as previously stated she provided her name, ask how we were, and proceeded to take our drink order. She returned to see if we were thinking about an appetizer and at the time we were not, we were still reviewing the menu. We settled on two for $25, my daughter is 14 so this was perfect. We shared cheese sticks which she absolutely loves, she had a cheeseburger I had the 6 oz sirloin paired with broccoli and fries. My daughter's burger came with fries as well. I can't complain much about how long we waited for food, we almost got it too fast. Seems like we have the cheese sticks in no time but honestly they were fresh and pretty dog gone good. Not long after we received our dinner, by now I could feel a little tooth pain so I ate just a bit of my broccoli and fries but I refuse to touch the sirloin. As for my daughter's Burger, bun was a little hard, perhaps they attempted to toasted. The meat itself wasn't very flavorful but with a lot of ketchup that 14-year-old was content. Our waitress was very consistent in checking on us which I could appreciate, the only downside is that I would have to request certain things that, otherwise you wouldn't, such as place setting, napkins etc. She was always gracious and pillow so we tipped 40%...
Read moreThis place is a JOKE! It reminded me exactly why, I don't ever choose Applebee's to eat!
We waited over 10 mins before we were seated, and we saw plenty of empty clean tables while we waited. One server was sitting, talking to someone in the waiting section, and we figured she was the hostess & would seat us after she was done. Jokes on us, we weren't even acknowledged! Our waitress was rude & inattentive, never received any refills even when we asked. The server who delivered our food accidentally dropped the butter dish off my plate & all over me (pants, coat & purse); he at least apologized and was nice, but that just topped this horrible experience! We had to ask some random server for silverware, AFTER we sat there with our food for a bit & our waitress was MIA. The people behind us had to ask for silverware, as well. One waitress was eating on the floor by the bar, on clock - she wasn't trying to hide it either.
We are not picky people, but this place needs help! We did not see a manager or anyone in charge, the entire time we were there! I've worked in the food industry & just can't get over how awful this place is! It is a chaotic nightmare! It is nice & everything looks newer, it could really bring in some revenue especially with the location but it needs a lot of work done with training staff and providing good customer service. Definitely...
