Well, we normally can say we have a very good experience at Cheddars in Terre Haute. But here lately it's getting harder to go back. Each and every time we go, trying to get seated is rediculous. It's ALWAYS, Sorry, you cannot sit there. Ok, what about in that section then? NO, I'm sorry, we do not have any servers there either. (4pm). And multiple tables and booths sitting empty. So this time we get seated at the South side of the building. And no air conditioning.. very warm there...Waitress shows up, we give her our entire order at the same time. We get our Diet Pepsi drinks and their must have been something wrong with the dispenser as both were flat. Waitress brings our food in a good amount of time. But my wife had ordered her fish well done and it wasn't, so she asked the Waitress if they could possibly cook it a little longer. She says, I've got to take another tables order first (table of 6). So my wife's food just sits, while I eat mine. Finally comes back, and we asked for new drinks as well.. got them fairly fast and better this time. Then my wife got her fish back and it was cooked correctly this time. So here's what really sort of got me upset. We go to this restaurant one to two times a week Always order the exact same thing, and spend $35 each time we go. We had ordered broccoli and asked for some garlic butter to put on it. They gave us these 2 very small balls of it. When we were done, and went to pay our bill, they charged us a dollar for each of them. I mentioned to the waitress, we get the exact thing each time we come here and have never been charged for garlic butter before. And I was extremely nice while saying this. She said I'll get the manager. He comes to the table and I explain that to him as well. He says well that is an add on. So I asked, where does it show that in the menu in which he says "Well, I'm not sure". But you should have previously been charged for it in the past and if in the future you are not, then please let me know and I will tell them they should charge you for it. Nice guy, but come on..$2.00 for 2 balls of garlic butter a little bigger than the size of a marble ? We paid for it, but what's next... Your straw is an add on charge. Ketchup, well that's an add on charge, extra napkin, that's an add on charge. To many other places to spend our $$$ at than to go back there again and beg to be seated and to be charged for these mysterious new Add on charges that ARE NOT SHOWN IN THE...
Read moreWe were very excited to eat at our first cheddars scratch kitchen. Every time we visit the Midwest or south we purpose to get here but this was our first opportunity. I wanted to enjoy a nice meal that was made from scratch. Unfortunately our experience was negative. Not only did our waitress get our meal wrong after discussing and describing our options and how things were made. We were really looking forward to what she described we were going to get. After our meal arrived we realized she ordered the wrong meal from the cook. The chicken strips were fresh and very good, but our fries were reheated in the microwave and tasted like cardboard. The waitress brought the rest of our meal out after we had eaten, at a later time and offered to give us fresh french fries in which we denied. One of the things that was also disappointing was⊠we were immediately thrown back by the political statements and lifestyle approval buttons and stickers on our waitresses apron. We came to cheddars to enjoy a nice meal the cheddars way, we wanted and expected professionalism and a quality meal. Instead we were forced to tip the person we donât politically agree with nor do we agree with the lifestyle they were promoting. But thatâs not why we came to eat, we were hungry, we wanted a quality meal. I was offended, I did not come to promote a political agenda or a persons lifestyle. Now as we approached the finish line to pay our tab and give a tip to the waitress I was forced to make a judgment, do I promote the quality of food I was served and am I forced to give a good tip to somebody I politically disagree with? I shouldnât be put in that situation. That should not be something that I have to think about when I go out to eat with my wife. I came to eat a quality meal and left sad and offended. We will never be back or...
Read moreWe went tonight around 7:30 pm and the place was a mad house! They were very well staffed and we were seated quickly by a kind, energetic gentleman who appeared to be a manager. We were going to be seated at a table, but with an infant in a car seat and a toddler we opted for a booth. He quickly found us a dirty booth and sent someone out to clean it pretty quickly and they were very helpful about getting us a high chair and a booster seat. The crummy rating comes from our service following being seated. We waited 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken (though our waitress was good about refills after). Our salads arrived at the same time as our food so I had to choose between shoveling down the salad before my food got cold, or taking the salad home (which sucked because I was really craving salad). In my discontent over the salad, I may have been a little harsh when my waitress asked if everything looked okay and I had to ask for silverwear for the 2nd time. Her feathers were visibly ruffled a bit and her next few drink drop offs were a little cold, but she bounced back quickly and offered up some great service by apologizing and removing a few things from our bill. Way to come back like a rockstar! Everyone has a bad day sometimes and being a server through most of my teens and early 20s, I completely respect you changing your attitude and working hard for your tips. Everyone has a story! All in all, we had a fair experience here. I think if the service management team can get together and troubleshoot their speed and recovery issues, there's a lot of potential at this place. Highly recommend the...
