Denny's — Restaurant in Indianapolis

Denny's was the best place to go after being at the club, but that was over 20 years ago. Then there was a lot of discrimination towards people of color and that ended my late night/early mornings of going to Denny's. I haven't heard of Denny's doing any wrong doings in recent years so I figured I'd give them a try. It was 1996 the last time I was in their restaurant. I went on the night that kids eat free. They weren't very busy with customers but they were short staffed. I was greeted by April, she was cashing out a family and said she'd be right with me. She finished her transaction and seated me in a booth and took my drink order. She went back to cashier duty, brought me my lemonade and seated another guest. She came back to see if I was ready to order. I had looked over the menu several times but went with the exact same dish I had ordered 20 years ago; French toast scrambled eggs with cheese and all sausage. I guess I'm a creature of habit. April continued to be cashier, greeter and waitress but now she has added busser to her list of activities. She never missed a beat. The cook rang the bell signifying a meal was ready. And there went April to scoop it up and deliver a plate of hot food to my table. She was a woman on a mission. I had a great experience at Denny's and I will definitely be back. I see the company sent me a general reply about contacting the general manager- No thank you, scary lady. Her demeaning attitude on the floor on how she treats her workers is unacceptable, let alone the argument with the customer storming out over a very simple fix. Yikes. My table was essentially forgotten about over this scene, even though we were prompted right away there was only one server, that server was busy getting chewed out most of the time. Water was also pouring from the ceiling, running like a faucet with a bucket under it right next to our table. I honestly thought the ceiling was going to drop on our table. And for some nasty reason my Coke was WARM?? Why? And the exchanges going on behind the dumpster… WOW! Leaving the building, I parked in back by the action packed receptacle and had the privilege of overhearing this manager on her smoke break talking poorly about her staff. You didn’t even have staff to help my table while the yelling was happening. Why are you out smoking? Who’s watching the other tables?? Idk- I hope that server got to keep their job. This place is not safe for a 24hr diner, inside and outside. The management here is drama. Seems like they can treat any and everyone however they want. I don’t even remember how my food was because we ate so fast, we just wanted to leave as fast as possible. Today Service was great. Our Server Cameron was a doll and he was on point with refills and more pancakes! Best service we've had yet. I can finally say service was good enough to leave a tip! Thanks again Cameron! Youre amazing!

10 months ago --Better service today. food was good. Male manager was rude and would not accept my aarp card as it was digital and couldn't scan. Got over charged for food I didn't order tried to give this place a 2nd chance but 7 months later its. ot much better.

7 months ago --Sat at our table for at least 10 mins before even having our drink orders taken. Got a server that didnt understand English. When she brought the drinks she spilled both drinks when she brought them to the table and then she left. Food was thrown together. Only brought us 1 meal when we ordered 2 as there are 2 people at the table. So my fiance gets to eat while I have to wait. Dishes aren't even cleaned enough. I found left over food from vegetables when I had a breakfast meal and no veggies 🤮🤢 Dont eat here...not worth the time or money. All I wanted was a quick nice meal to celebrate a special occasion and instead I get ^^?

Then when discussing it with a white older female manager I get a snobby attitude and disrespectful and gave me a whole fricken %10 off...when I couldn't even enjoy meal...what scum wow way to PUSH A CUSTOMER AWAY FROM NEVER RETURNING TO...
