I was so excited to see Doc B'sc opened. I saw it going in at Christmas when I went to the mall. It had a scan code to check out the restaurant coming. My cousin lives in Fishers, and I am down by the airport. This is a great middle spot to meet. I made reservations on the open table on Saturday. It's super easy, and I downloaded Doc B's app. You earn points for dining and signing up. I requested a booth at noon. We got sat at a booth right next to the kitchen. The kitchen has a big clear glass so you can see everything. I ordered an unsweetened ice tea with lemon. Let me tell you, you will not need to ask for refills. Before even finishing one, a new one came to the table. Michael was our waiter and such a nice attentive waiter. He had lots of suggestions. Kyle, one of the managers, came by and offered his suggestions as well. Oh my goodness, talk about feeling spoiled. The soup of the day was tomato bisque with feta cheese. It was very creamy and light tasting. Not bitter at all, and I can't eat tomato soups normally. I tasted my cousins, and it was delicious. My cousin ordered the white fish sandwich. She normally gets it in Michigan and Ohio. She asked how this fish was in comparison. They said the fish is fresh and comes from Chicago daily. The Cajun is very light, and it's more for flavor than spicy. It's not spicy at all. The fish had a certain name, but she was familiar with that fish. Her side dish ordered was the Buffalo style potatoes. How they explained it, is the potatoes are cut fresh, boiled, baked, and then baked again with the sauce. I tried the potatoes so good, not her fish, but she said she loved it. I ordered the Carnitas Sandwich. How this was explained with the meat. They are very particular how food goes out to the dining area. They use the meat from the Danish Ribs. If the tub meat is cracked or not a full piece. They shred the meat and used that for the Carnitas Sandwich. The sandwich comes with pickles, come slaw, and onion ring. I got everything on the side. The onion ring was a thick cut onion, and the breading was more like a panko breading. Very light and crispy. The Cole slaw was fresh and not alot of that creamy sauce. I put the pickle on the sandwich, and it added that extra zing. My side I order the crispy jalenpeno potatoes. They are not spicy at all, the jalapeño aioli, and cojita cheese melted was just perfect. I got extra sauce on the side. After talking and catching up for a long time with my cousin. I decided to order dessert. They don't rush you at all for the check or need to leave. They have alot of really good desserts. I ended up ordering the Robs Double Decker chocolate cake without the chocolate drizzle. So get this, you can have a free glass of milk with your cake. For every slice sold in February half the money $5.00 is given back to Doctor B" American Brain Tumor Association. Along with his birthday month and love of chocolate cake. They even asked if we wanted ice tea to go. I will be back before the end of this month. Everything was just perfect. You can enter from outside or...
Read moreWe came here for a reunion lunch and unfortunately I think they were short staffed. When we arrived the place was fairly empty considering it was a Saturday afternoon, yet we still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. We were told we had to sit in the closed in patio space because the inside had reservations already, ironically the restaurant never filled so maybe they all canceled…… The menu decent, it’s American style food and I think burgers are more of their thing. We ordered some kale and artichoke dip for the table and while the dip was just ok the chips were fantastic! They were light, crisp and airy and melted in your mouth! Our waitress was pretty good as well, I think she was a little overwhelmed with tables though. It took quite a bit of time for our order to actually come to our table but we did notice it took everyone awhile to get their food. Everyone at my table ordered burgers accept me, I had what I thought was a crispy Cajun chicken, but I think it turned into a decorated dry crispy chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun. Thank goodness I ordered a side of mayo when I placed my order. For my side I got the jalapeño crispy potatoes and they are not what you think they are. They are cut up and mashed down, but they come in a thick crispy pancake style. I wasn’t the biggest fan but the sauce on top was fantastic! If there had been more instead of just the little bit on top, I probably would’ve ate all the potatoes. The crispy chicken was crispy but I didn’t care for the consistency of the chicken. It reminded me of a chicken breast that had been pounded thin to mash so you felt like you were eating a crispy chicken nugget sandwich. A side you might want to stay away from are the sweet potato fries, unless you like your sweet potato fries in the steak cut style. They were too thick and you definitely missed the crispiness of a fry. They came out really cute in this criss cross design but my friend and I felt they needed less time on the cute design and more time on frying them so they’re crispy and not just thick. I’m not sure I’ll ever come back again but if I was at the mall and wanted to place an order to go, I...
Read moreI am writing this review from the door dasher delivery person experience side of things. I will begin by saying I have spent 15 years in restaurants and hospitality so I do know a thing or two when it comes to take out and prep and food service as well. Unfortunately, Doc B’s has messed up an order three times in a row that I’ve had to deliver food from their location to a guest somewhere. This time it took them 16 minutes to replace a tuna that was missing out of a salad. Mind you this tuna is ahi so it is only seared and sliced. Their orders are never ready on time for pick up. Today I was in there and there were three guests at the bar top, two bartenders, and approximately one guest in the dining area. I understand in restaurants the 4 o’clock time is the slow time or the get ready for the Night Shift time. But there was an ample amount of staff that could’ve handled the problem. I will go ahead and say that your host team is exemplary in their communication and their service skills. They did all they could to make sure that the problem was handled. I hate to be the person who writes bad reviews, and I expect nothing to come of this except for hopefully that the staff in your restaurant does a much better job in helping their guests and their take out procedures, getting them to a higher standard so that the restaurant doesn’t falter. I’d hate to see another restaurant in Indianapolis falter due to the fact that takeout is now taking over most of our dining style and they seem to be unable to comply with the times that they need to in order to survive. Also, unfortunately I do DoorDash is a third part time job in order to subsidize my income. So not only have they now affected my income, but they have affected their guest...
