Our family enjoyed a Saturday afternoon meal on the porch. We used the parkindy.net parking system (there's a new app that's handy to download) and parked just up the street from the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host, who got our name and number to track our wait. We were told we could wait on the front porch, and a server soon came by to take our drink order. We didn't wait long at all and were asked to wear masks while walking through the restaurant. We were seated on the uncovered portion of the back porch with a view of the canal, and it was perfect. There were a few light sprinkles for a few minutes, but nobody was really bothered.
The menu is available in print, upon request, but they recommend using their online version. Hubby enjoyed an IPA from a local brewery, and we ordered the brisket nachos as an appetizer. The nachos were fantastic!
I ordered the Bang Bang Cauliflower tacos to try something new, and they did not disappoint. What a delightful combination of flavors! Hubby ordered the Fish and Chips, and he liked it. Our daughter shared all of our foods and seemed to enjoy the fish and chips more than hubby.
The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted during our weekend vacation, and our daughter loved seeing all of the happy dogs sitting with their owners.
We left lunch and wandered around the area to find lots of neat stores and other eateries. We plan to return during a future visit to try more of the...
Read moreFlatwater was a great establishmen! I gave them a give star review because:
The restaurant was clean, and they accommedating seating logically and smart to best accommedate customers to be seating and remove masks while appropriatrly distancing.
The service staff was timely, friendly, and concise when asking us about orders. We had multiple accomedations to our orders, and it came out meeting our exact expectations.
The food was fresh and well prepared. It matched our expectations, accomedations, and was very timely based on out ordering time.
The most important reason for this review is how the staff treated theit own employees. You could certainly tell the people enjoyed having customers and they felt supported by thwir management. An unruly customer was upset when asked to wear a mask while out of his seat, and he lashed on an employee. Immediately managerment camr out to descalate the situation and the situation was takrn care of without disrespecting the customer or the employee. Later, when the wait list turned to about 45 minutes, you could se the manager was reccommending other restaurants for couples to visit incase they didnt eant to experiencr the wait.
Flatwater is a great place to eat, and certainly is looking out its employees and neighboring compititors. I highly reccomend dining with them if you're interested in a great meal with...
Read moreFlatwater is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Indianapolis! 💯 The food is always delicious with fresh flavors and generous portions, and the menu has something for everyone. My personal favorites are the burgers, pork nachos (massive), and blackened mahi.
The service is consistently warm and attentive, and you can tell the staff genuinely care about making every guest feel welcome. 🥰 The atmosphere is fantastic, relaxed yet vibrant, with a beautiful view of the canal that makes it perfect for both casual outings and special occasions. And did I mention that there is live music during the summertime?!?! Who doesn't like live music? No friend of mine, that's for sure. 💃🕺
What really sets Flatwater apart is the owners’ sincere interest in every customer’s experience, which shines through in the little details and personal touches. Plus, it’s dog friendly, which makes it even more inviting for anyone who enjoys dining with their four-legged friends. 🐕🐩🦮🐕🦺
Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing food, friendly service, and a great spot to enjoy in Broad Ripple!
PS: I'm a little ashamed I haven't left a review of this place sooner. Been coming here for years and have met some of my very best...
