A taco place that started in the neighboring state of Ohio in 2014, not sure what inspired them to come this way but I’m glad they did. Condado tacos are located in 2 places in the city of Indy, and I decided to visit the Broadripple location. It’s right on the main drag in what used to be the old Chumley's. The interior is colorful, full of art and has some interesting lighting, there's also a number of college kids, but the thirties crowd too. Decent selection of drinks, I decided to indulge and go with the margarita flight, with mango, prickly pear, and jalapeño. All were the perfect portion and came with limes and some extra salt. Pro-tip, you can combine the jalapeno with the right flavor so I was also able to have a mango jalapeno margarita as well. As you can deduce from the name, tacos are the typical go-to but with some friendly suggestions I ended up getting the taco bowl. You essentially check off a list with everything that you want, so a tequila steak, jackfruit, pick, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, with sticky rice and spicy creamy chiplote sauce really hit the spot. I must say, I have enjoyed these tacos on several occasions, usually from home.... However, to celebrate a friend's move to the Gulf, wanted to go here and have drinks and dinner.... Paid for a parking spot , entered the building and asked for a particular vacant table by the bar and was treated like the last stinking, begging vagrant! Hostess stated, "I just sat that area", but nothing else.... Why does that even matter!? Then told, you'll have to wait... Now, mind you, there may 20% of the tables in use.... Why would you make us wait by the front entrance, seat others but not us at a vacant, available table???? I've noticed the one downtown has very similar irritating, non-customer service attitudes... All their staff need a class in Customer Service! But, even management stated... "You have an attitude"... Not a good sign of any good business that doesn't care to satisfy it's customers.... Went to Jazz Kitchen and had a magnificent time and the customer service there is impeccable! Oh, and yeah, dropped a couple hundred.... Your loss, Condado!
