I've eaten at several Lincoln Square locations and this was a huge disappointment. The prices were outrageous compared to other locations, the food was not up to par by any standards for this family chain and service was, let's say interesting. My food was not completely cooked, the avocado was black and inedible and the syrup dispenser that was brought to me was too gross to touch. My husbands meal was so greasy he could barely eat a small portion of half the sandwich. When they asked if everything was ok the hostess literally asked, said, "great!" then turned around and started to walk away. We stopped her and she barely made eye contact so we could tell her about the sandwich, walked off and came back with a business card for 5 dollars off our next meal, then politely said we could go ahead and use it that day if we wanted. I asked for a half portion which is normally not a problem, the waitress had them use 1 egg instead of 3 and I received half portion of everything else, she took 1 whole dollar off of my meal that was 9 dollars (I get this same meal, full portion at the other locations for 7.99 and if I do half portion they charge me for basically a kids meal and it's less than 5 dollars.). Having moved from the greater Indianapolis area a few years ago it's nice to visit places we know and love when we're in town. We'll stick with our favorite location north on 31 when passing through and go to another local downtown favorite next time...
Read moreThis definitely was NOT a good experience. Both our meals were cold, and way less than desirable when it came to flavor and portions. My Pesto Omelette was edible...with so much feta it chocked you upon tasting...and I love feta! Barely any spinach, tomatoes or pasta to offset all of the cheese. When I let my waitress know..... She's shrugged and said well I guess I'll let the kitchen know. Later, the manager came to our table and asked about our food.... Not what we had wanted but mine was not edible. After, the waitress was so dismissive..... My husband asks for a to-go box since we were going to be paying almost $35 for the meal to see if we could do something with it by adding some ingredients at home. When the manager thought we were going to be taking the meals with us.... He said well okay I guess I can let the kitchen know. So, it was obvious had we not been planning on taking the meals with us...we were not going to pay. He left the table. I asked the hostess have him come back-- keep my meal and remove it from my ticket. He rudely grabbed my husband's to go box as well. I said, no we are talking that-- charge me. Terrible terrible service and food. We will NOT be returning. Not very good for a local establishment built on word of mouth to keep...
Read moreA tough day for the restaurant for this visit, unfortunately, as I am fan of this Indy diner chain. There was a strong wait which was expected for the holiday weekend, although several tables always were available at the noon hour to take guests. The team kept saying they were short wait staffed, however the kitchen team was ample to assist as they were fully staffed. There were several tables that remained dirty throughout our visit (but the wait would have explained controlling the flow due to the short wait staff), along with the floors and restroom needing attention. We noticed a manager unfortunately directing and distracting versus assisting the team. They also cautioned on a 20 minute wait for food, which was appreciated and expected in the situation. The kicker is when they ran out of silverware at the restaurant and gave us plastic which capped off their pain points. Overall the food was and remains updated diner staples and is always a good and safe choice. Their cinnamon butter makes everything better, and my friend got the breakfast chimichanga which looked amazing. The team was very curtious and friendly which we loved. Hopefully they will have a better day...
