Went there with my wife, my brother and his wife. We or celebrating my brother's wife's 50th birthday. When we made reservations they even asked if there was a special occasion and I put in the comments that we were celebrating her 50th birthday. Then they called a few days later to confirm the reservation, and I mentioned the note about the birthday celebration. They said " oh yes we see that and will note it". When we arrived we were not only asked by the waiter but also the manager, who came by if we, were celebrating anything and we again repeat that we were celebrating her 50th birthday. They did not do one thing for us for her 50th birthday party! No special little treat no nothing! I even heard waiters ask other tables are you here for any special occasion? Why do you ask these things on your website and even in person once you get to the restaurant if you don't do jack crap??? We could have easily went across the street to maggiano's and spent less and got way more. At least a maggiano's they bring out a nice treat with a birthday candle on it for the person who's celebrating their birthday! The food portions were extremely small and the prices are way overpriced! Your meals come with zero sides, You have to order them separately for an additional price. I got a piece of salmon over rice with shredded carrots and zucchini on top. $45! And no sides! My brother got a ribeye steak and that was it on the plate....$65! His wife ordered a drink, it had a large ( baseball size ) ice cube in it that had a flower peddle in it. The ice cube took up 3/4 of the glass that she got so it had very little alcohol in it. That alone costs $17! This place is an absolute joke. Way overpriced, thinking that they are some kind of high-end restaurant. We will never return to this place again. Take your family anywhere else but this want to be high-end restaurant. We could have went across the street to Maggiano's and ate like kings for the price that we paid for this small portions crap food that we got at ocean's prime! What an embarrassment and water of God money this was for us and more importantly actually waste of having a good 50th birthday...
Read moreWe recently visited Ocean Prime in Indianapolis to celebrate our anniversary, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant came highly recommended, so we called ahead, and they mentioned we didn’t need a reservation since we were nearby. Upon arrival, we were seated at a beautifully decorated table with rose petals and a candle, which set the perfect romantic mood. The ambiance was quiet and elegant, creating a lovely atmosphere for our celebration.
The food was absolutely amazing! My husband ordered the lobster with a baked potato, and I had the chicken, which was served with spinach and roasted tomatoes—both were delicious. We also shared the Chop Chop Salad, which the staff kindly split for us, and the mushroom ravioli stuffed with cheese was simply divine. To top it off, I had a non-alcoholic bubbly drink that not only tasted incredible but was also beautifully presented. We also appreciated the Fiji water after requesting no tap or filtered water.
To our surprise, our server returned and let us know that the restaurant was offering us a complimentary dessert in honor of our anniversary. We were so touched by the gesture! We couldn’t decide on which dessert to get, and our server even mentioned that since my husband’s birthday was the next day, we could get another complimentary dessert. Though we didn’t take them up on the second offer, we were incredibly thankful for the thoughtful gesture. It made the evening even more special.
Our server Heather was excellent, providing attentive and thoughtful service throughout the evening. We were so impressed with the overall experience, and the last-minute recommendation we received while shopping at Castleton Square was spot on. We dressed up for the occasion, and it felt like the perfect place to celebrate.
We give Ocean Prime a 10 out of 10 and would gladly return. Highly recommended for a...
Read moreWelcoming, warm, friendly, and make you feel at home. I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. It's always a great experience when you have one great encounter, but when you have three or four it is memorable. Cannot be more appreciative of Dakota and Evelyn behind the bar, and Blake our server. Great suggestions, friendly conversation, and top notch service.
Favorite thing was by far the Spicy Tuna roll, recommended by Blake. I apologize for not getting a picture, but this is a must try dish. I also had the Florida Grouper. Fish was fresh, no fishy taste at all (hard to do in Indiana), and was cooked perfectly. Light and flaky. The unsung hero though was the gnocchi. Subtle, pillowy, and soaks up all the flavor into a tiny little flavor bomb. I didn't care for the addition of the peas, and wasn't all that excited about the lobster. I think the peas took away from the flavor and the lobster was just there. I also felt like it was missing something. For my flavors, I think I would have preferred it over some light greens instead of the soupy broth. The broth was fantastic though, full of flavor. My wife got a 10 oz filet, and the temp was spot on. Maybe a tad more seasoning and would have been perfect. We also shared sides of mashed potatoes and upon Blake's recommendations the corn. Corn was my second favorite dish of the night. Perfect crisp bite of the kernel, and the seasoning and flavor were perfect. Mashed potatoes were silky and smooth, with deliciously crisp roasted garlic chips. My wife wasn't a huge fan of them like I was, and that was largely due to their bitterness which I loved.
Overall, we had a great experience. Great recommendations, really good food, and a friendly staff starting in the front, all the way to the bar, and at the table. Lastly, just a beautiful...
