Looks like I should have read other's reviews before deciding to stop at this particular Steak & Shake location. We had a similar bad experience. Waitress seated us right away, but had to clear off table first. 90% of the tables had dirty dishes on them. In the time we were there, no one came to bus the dishes off tables. There were two waitresses working the dining room. One I only saw come from behind the drinks dispenser/ counter once or twice. Our waitress was pleasant and took our order fairly quickly. I ordered a side of coleslaw with my chicken tenders and chose honey mustard as my sauce. My husband ordered a peanut butter shake with his burger. The food came in a decent amount of time, but there my coleslaw wasn't with it, neither was my sauce for the tenders, and neither was the shake. I immediately asked our waitress for the coleslaw, and my sauce, and mentioned that my husband had ordered a shake with his burger. Our food was good-- no complaints there; but I Ate half od my chicken tenders and fries before I got my sauce and coleslaw. My husband never got his shake while we were eating, so we asked the waitress to make it to-go when she dropped off the bill. While our waitress was running around trying to take care of just about everything, we saw a woman come out of the kitchen and come to sit down with guests at one of the tables. She did this about 3 times while we were there. She sat there and chatted and texted on her phone for about 5 minutes each time. The manager was also there, and was seen a couple of times at the cash register. He never came to the floor to help the one waitress who was taking care of about everything, including the cash register and taking orders. The manager was at the cash register when we left. He asked how our visit was. I wasn't going to lie. I told him the food was good, but service was slow-- we got some of our food much later than the rest and also had to ask for our shake to-go. He never said he was sorry, just rang up our bill and told us he was taking the shake off our bill. What a...
Read moreThis is by far the absolute WORST location for the franchise, and exceeds the worst customer service at any public location we have EVER received.
Ordered (2) double bacon meals, (1) bacon meal and sides of chili. Upon pulling away after exceptionally long wait time, noticed missing chili. Returned, and went to enter front door where one employee rushed to lock the doors, and played it off as if she couldn’t hear reason for entering before sitting down in lobby. Entered store, and manager proceeded to belligerently SCREAM that the inside was closed. Expressed only there for missing chili, thinking she would perhaps reduce her volume or change her tone but to no avail; it got worse. Proceed through drive-thru, get chili. Employee working window apologizes and kind exchange is given - and the manager overhearing again became belligerent “what’s he saying? What’s he saying?”
Upon arriving home, the order included (2) bacon burgers, and 1 regular burger. Our fault for trusting, perhaps, and certainly not worth returning to the location for a third time just to be berated and screamed at by manager, nor allow employees to be further demeaned when she screams at them to shut the window and ignore customers.
Enjoy Steak N Shake, but at literally ANY other location - preferably not with shared management...
Read moreI came to dine in with a buddy of mine for dinner. We walked in to see nobody seated and one person checking out. There were two servers standing around and talking in the lobby, but we still had to wait a few minutes so the cashier could finish up and seat us. When we sat at a table I looked over to see how filthy the drink station was. I could see garbage, dust, grime and cups underneath it along with the hoses for the soda tap that were also covered in grime. After we ate we walked up to pay. There was a cashier up there and two ladies sitting at the bar with a menu. The cashier would not check us out until these ladies at the bar decided what they wanted to order. We stood waiting by the register for easily over 10 minutes before these ladies ordered and paid. While we were waiting in line, I could see two employees obviously flirting and touching eachother inappropriately out in the lobby. Then as soon as these ladies in front of us ordered, a lady who was behind us in line walks up right past us, hands the cashier her receipt and the cashier let her pay before us. I have never had an experience like this at a restaurant before. I am truly amazed the restaurant can run like this, and not so surprised that there was hardly any buisiness at...
