The falafel was good & for 10$ reasonably priced & the variety of salads refreshing. Unfortunately there is no version of ordering a plate with 3-5 different salads for set price. & 1 small box -8 oz of grilled eggplant or califlower is 6$!!! Pricey. So, is the baklava. It's delicious with pistachios or nuts 6$!!! for 3 little pieces. The half chicken for 11$ was small, not regular half chicken & not worth it. Plenty of places sell 1 whole chicken for that price. When a young man, who seemed to be the owner entered the Restaurant he had an angry, uninviting energy to him. No smile, no acknowledging the customer, no welcome. It is obvious that he was born here. NEVER lived in the middle east. One thing I love about all the Middle Eastern Restaurants I have been to: Lebanese, Egyptian, Armenian, Persian a.s.o. is how genuinely welcoming & friendly they r. This place lacked that vibe. & the young lady behind the register asked me atleast 4 times if my son & I were together. Answered 4×. 'Yes, we r' until I had to add the last time, the obvious ' Yes, he is my son'. For some reason it was not clicking. My son is black & I am not. Add to that she tried to tell me my card didn't go through. I just looked at her & said ' I don't think so'. She clicked another button that she forgot to click before mistake or on purpose. It went through. So, I am not sure. Does she not know how to use the register. Its really not that hard. Or was she just trying to be unpleasant since it wasn't clicking that Interacional families exist. I doubt I will ever go back to find out. But I suggest. They let the customer swipe his own card. Because it's extremely offensive to be called out by an incompetent cashier over having a card with plenty of funds on not go through on a...
Read moreI recently purchased food from here while attending a conference in the city of Los angeles. It was truly fall off the bone deliciously seasoned chicken. The chicken was tender and juicy. It was a little difficult to separate out some of the smaller Bones from the half chicken but I got through it and enjoyed that I could rend the flesh with my hands because I did not have a knife and fork (I do not mind this it made me feel cool to eat it manually). The bread was spectacular and was baked to a degree of fluffiness that I have not experienced in another bread. I got it with hummus and pickled turnips which were pretty delectable, very toothesome and vibrantly colored. The sauces I chose were the tahini and the red sauce which were both nice accents on the food. I also got a delicious mint lemonade which was the perfect amount of sweet and tart with a nice cool mint flavor.
It is so difficult nowadays to find truly authentic Middle Eastern food, oftentimes it is just a poor imitation co-opted and misappropriated by people from northern Europe who think they have a claim to the land. That's why I am so glad you have gotten food from Jerusalem Chicken where I could tell it was cooked by people truly native...
Read moreI placed an order for their steak bowl with fries, which came to a total of approximately $28 including tax. Initially, I had reservations about the cost, but they compensated for the higher price by providing a generous portion and flavorful food. The bowl contained a substantial amount of fries and fresh salad. They offered a variety of sides and sauces to choose from. I opted for pickled onions, yellow chili peppers with sambal sauce, and a house sauce. The meat was tender, freshly prepared, and had an enticing flavor. The quantity of meat was more than adequate. All of these elements combined to create an exceptional dining experience. The portion size was sufficient for two people. I look forward to returning to this establishment. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the premises were meticulously clean and hygienic. Additionally, it is noteworthy that the meat served here is Halal, and they also cater to vegan and vegetarian...
