We showed up on sat 11/16/19 approximately 12 ish two of us, place was not to busy , 3 tables w ppl eating , the rating for this joint is high 4.5 but not so much, not authentic Mexican food is americanized. he had chix taquitos n I had red Chilaquiles w an egg on top , sauce was not flavorful it lack cheese, the tortilla chips tasted soggy n not fried at all , the waiter was pretty knowledgeable I'll give them that but his coffee was cold n I had to ask for another I had 3 cups n only one of those cups was hot, even do I told him, compared to the other waiter I saw he had steaming hot pot of coffee 4 his table!!! Smh !! Overall experience the only thing that was good was the fried tortilla chips ,salsa n the bean dip which were so flavorful, the waiter after he brought the food he completely ignored us. I can't remember his name, real young , short hair n skinny. The other waiter was on top of all n he even brought us a To-go box cuz our waiter was ignoring us. Don't get me wrong even if food is awesome if the staff sucks ppl don't come back. I eat at restaurants cuz I want to try different foods n places not cuz of the staff. The other waiter he was stocky black hair wrapped in a ponytail,,, kudos to u dude!! Keep up the good work. Taquitos had flavor n the guac was yummy, the beans were different than the dip wonder why?? I much rather prefer mashed beans for the dip n plates too . Fyi ! Restaurant was average, but clean. Rock en espanol playing in the background, clean bathrooms. Soccer match on tv if u like to watch sports...
Read moreA bit late, but I just have to share our incredible experience at La Fonda! We were a group of nine heading to a concert at the Kia Forum, so we already had some challengesâlimited time before the show and managing a large group. I was prepared for things to be tricky, but Frances and the team made the entire evening seamless and absolutely stress-free.
Frances was exceptional from the start. Her communication was clear, professional, and prompt, and she handled our group with such ease and expertise. She truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfectly timed for us to enjoy our dinner and make it to the concert without a hitch.
When we arrived, the restaurant was bustling (there were other large groups also heading to the Kia Forum), but despite how busy it was, everything ran like clockwork. Our food arrived on time, and every single dish was deliciousâevery person in our group was impressed. The service was impeccable, even during such a high-pressure, busy time.
Parking? No issues at all, which is such a bonus when youâre on a tight schedule. And when it was time to head out, the staff made sure we had clear directions to the Kia Forum, saving us time and hassle.
La Fonda is now officially our go-to spot for pre-concert dinners! Fantastic food, flawless service, and a team that truly understands how to take care of their guestsâeven on a hectic night....
Read moreThis is now my new favorite place to stop when I fly to LAX and visit family in CA. The food is amazing. They make the Aguas fresh, and the chips and salsa are homemade. We had horchata, tamarindo, chile relleno, huevos rancheros, and I had the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs. You can pick either green (spicy) or red (mild) salsa for your dish. They have a free water station and even had some fun word search sheets you can work on at your table. The prices were very reasonable as well and worth it. The hours vary a little (see hours picture), they open around 8am-ish, lol. My parents got plantains and they said they were delicious and sweet. They come with a side of crema and beans. The owner is the main cook there, and I believe the sons also work there too. Everyone there was so nice and chatted with us, too. For vegetarian options, you have a lot of items to pick from. My mom is vegetarian, and it's hard to impress her with most vegetarian menus at restaurants, which normally very limited options for the most part. So she was very happy with their vegetarian menu and the...
