Del Taco — Restaurant in Irvine

I ordered delivery and my shake was forgotten, unknown if the error was on the part of Door Dash or Del Taco. Door Dash gave me the "not our fault, talk to Del Taco". I called Del Taco, 3-4 times back to back, until I got through.

I spoke with a man named Saul (spelling?), I believe the manager of sorts at the time. He immediately apologized for the inconvenience and asked what Del Taco could do. I asked if they could give me the forgotten shake if I went to the store and picked it up. He said yes, of course. I also asked if I could get a free item for my inconvenience. He said yes, when you arrive ask for Saul and we'll work it out.

I get there, I meet Saul, he apologizes again, and asks what I would like in addition to the shake. I asked for a free burrito. He replied by asking if I wanted two! I did not decline.

Unsolicited profuse apologies and generous compensation when things go sideways. This is customer service right here! At the time of this writing, Del Taco and Saul are...

If you order something to go from this particular store, please do make sure that you double check what you get in your order. What happened to me last time is that, after I got home, I found there were 3 tacos less than what I ordered. I called back right away, and the manager promised me that I would get 3 tacos back next time with my name mentioned. 2 weeks later, I went there again thinking that I would also get my 3 tacos back as well this time. Guess what? They told me that my name wasn't on their list. Are you kidding me? No doubt, since they mentioned the "list", there must be more people having the same problem like me. So, this store seems having the problem of messing up customer's order. I hope this is just a mistake(though it happened to other people too), not the way that they make extra money when you order a lot and you don't have time to check what you get. Again, make sure you double check what you get...

Very nice Del Taco. The cashier was one of the nicest young men I have seen in a very long time. He was very cute, very polite and very helpful. I ordered a coupon item, a bean burrito and one of the little strawberry shakes. The shakes are to die for! I couldn't even use a straw, it was so thick and full of strawberries that I literally just drank it. My only complaint would be the chicken tacos. The taco itself was tough around the edges. The meat Was Juicy and the lettuce was crisp. They also had plenty of cheese. The restaurant appeared to be very clean and well kept up. They had enough employees to be able to get everybody's order done and extremely timely manner. I would go back again!
