Viktor Benes Bakery — Restaurant in Irvine

VERY DISAPPOINTING - Spent $105 on a cake for my wife's 50th birthday. I ordered her favorite Chocolate with bavarian cream filling. I picked it up and presented it at her party, to discover after cutting and serving it that this bakery screwed it up and made it CHOCOLATE with LEMON filling?!?! What? Who would order LEMON filling in a Chocolate cake??? Obviously nobody ate the cake, it was a total waste! Even my 11 and 9 year old daughters would not eat it, LOL. I called the bakery and they tried to tell me their bavarian cream is LEMON and they claim they made it as I asked. This is simply NOT true. Bavarian cream is a vanilla flavor. Great selection of holiday cookies. Pretty good selection of cakes. The person who writes happy birthday on the cakes wasn’t there. My mom is old school and likes writing on her cake. Now adays everyone uses those toppers so I get why it’s not as important for them to have someone there who can write. Ordinarily, the contract bake shops in Gelson's are pretty good, like the one in Long Beach. Viktor Benes, at the Irvine Gelson's, is a sad exception to that rule.
