Golden Spoon is located in the Oak Creek Shopping Center, which is a nice, convenient spot with plenty of parking and a cozy patio area to sit and enjoy your dessert. The shop was clean and well-maintained, which was a plus.
As for the flavors, there wasn’t a huge variety to choose from. We ordered the old-fashioned vanilla, mango sorbet, tart, and cheesecake. The taste was just okay overall. The tart was definitely the highlight – we really liked it!
However, the mango sorbet was overly sweet and didn’t taste much like mango – it reminded me more of a soda pop flavor. The cheesecake, unfortunately, was a letdown. It wasn’t sweet, lacked flavor, and only had a yellow color going for it.
The customer service, though, was fantastic. The staff member who helped us was very sweet and took the time to explain the flavors. That really stood out and made the experience better.
Overall, it’s an okay place if you want to give it a try, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back. It was decent, but the flavors just didn’t impress me enough. Free Wi-Fi and the nice patio are a bonus if you’re looking for a casual...
Read moreAny visit to Golden Spoon harkens back memories of my teenage years when I used to enjoy fro-yo as a teenager. It’s hard to believe this establishment has been handcrafting deliciously creamy frozen yogurt using all-natural ingredients since 1983! Kudos to Golden Spoon for withstanding the test of time.
The Irvine location of Golden Spoon occupies the corner unit in the food court at Oak Tree Shopping Center. Parking in this center can be challenging during peak hours. A young teenaged girl worked the front counter when I visited with my daughter on her birthday. We ordered two 8 oz regular cups, but I think this size may be too big for one person…I’d recommend the 4 oz mini cup instead. Due to the special occasion, my daughter got to add toppings and she chose sprinkles and gummy worms (IMO gummies aren’t the best toppings for ice cream or froyo because they harden and are more difficult to chew). Golden Spoon’s menu is ever-changing, so I’ll be curious to see if the Georgia Peach flavor is still on the menu when we...
Read moreAfter much delay this store finally opened. Great location near a Gelsons and other small eateries, Walgrens, etc. The owner is onsite often. He cares about his business which is eveident by the workers who are friendly, attentive and always cleaning the store. They have a variety of flavors. Their chocolate is not my favorite. Something about it tastes odd. Whereas at the Golden Spoon in Newport Coast they have a killer Chocolate gelato that is to die for. In the Irvine store my favorite thus far is the Coffee. Fabulous!! I am always disappointed when they don't have it. And best of all the prices are reasonable unlike another yogurt store I will not mention by name. Lots of seating outside and some inside. Great place to stop on your way out of the center to eat on the way home or have after dinner. Try it! It is worth the money...
