I looove the Irvine Spectrum. Thereās so many food spots here. My bf and I came here to wait out the traffic. We decided to try this spot for dinner.
Parking: Thereās free parking lots and parking garages. Easy to find a spot on weekdays and difficult on the weekends.
Ambiance/Environment: Love the interior decor. They have a beach, skater, surfer theme. Thereās plenty of indoor seating with a good amount of outdoor seating too. Perfect for all group sizes.
Service: It wasnāt as busy on a Tuesday night. There was only one cashier at the time. We did wait a while to order, but a second cashier finally came and took us to the bar to order. We didnāt catch her name, but she was quick and efficient.
What we ordered:
Mr. Leeās Screamān Chicken Burrito - Mr. Leeās chili sauce was absolutely flavorful! Apparently itās suppose to be āspicy,ā but I didnāt think it was spicy at all. I think itād be better without the mushrooms. Other than that, it was still good though!
Hawaiian Onion Ring Burrito - My bf made this a combo with white rice and black beans. This burrito was also flavorful and filled! All the ingredients went well together. The rice & beans tasted as expected.
Cajun Fries - I like their version of Cajun. Itās not the usual Cajun seasoning weāre familiar with. We really enjoyed it!
Pricing: It was definitely worth its price. We left fulfilled...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWahoo's has truly fallen from grace. I used to go to eat there every Friday for many years. You would order at the front and a waiter would bring out your food in a ceramic plate with metal cutlery like a traditional restaurant. This was a few years ag. Today I visited Wahoo's again and was disappointed beyond belief. When ordering my food, the hostess said my veggie quesadilla would come with sour cream and something else (don't remember). Once I got the food, there was neither. Unlike their previous system, you have to get the food at the front yourself even if you're dining in. The food which I ordered to eat at the restaurant was in a to-go box and had sauce all over the exterior of the box. The quesadillas were messily heaped inside and were falling apart before I even picked them up. The banzai sauce overpowered all the other flavors of the quesadilla. I was eating with three other friends, two of which received their food in completely different to-go packages. Attached is a photo of my friend's "meal." Utterly devastated and disappointed by this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a Mexican food connoisseur, I would have to say that Wahoo's burritos are average. They're good, don't get me wrong... however, I ordered the Mr. Lee's Burrito with tofu instead of chicken because the description made it sound so good. It was just okay. Do not get the combo that includes rice and beans because the burrito is STUFFED with too much rice and very little of the other ingredients listed in the description, that was very disappointing. You can just imagine, I'm full on rice and the visit wasn't cheap. I also ordered it wet style and expected lots of sauce dripping all over my burrito but unfortunately, they skimped on the sauce and didn't make a difference if i had ordered my burrito dry. I'm somewhat disappointed and most likely...
