Overall a good experience but there is a little left to be desired from Bruno’s. The service and the staff are great. Very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of! The atmosphere is also great - I recommend going towards sunset as it feels classier at night. The outside looks much more boring than the inside - you could kind of call it ugly on the outside beautiful on the inside. They usually have a live piano player which adds a lot to it and we really enjoyed that aspect of it. The only area that it gets points down from me is the food. While there are a lot of good options, we definitely were expecting a little bit more. We got the filet mignon with the mashed potatoes and veggies and the gravy was AMAZING, mashed potatoes were great, veggies were a little undercooked and under seasoned but the steak we were not very impressed. We ordered it medium rare but it came more medium well and was definitely drier than what we wanted. We were hungry so we didn’t make the fuss to send it back and with the gravy it was good. We also got the lasagna, only real complaint was that it was a little bland for our taste. The chocolate cake was good and I got a cannoli to go which I haven’t tried yet. In total we spent $100 tip included (but we don’t drink so we didn’t get wine or anything). I think this restaurant has the potential to be very popular and a great place! But I think the kitchen needs just a bit of tweaking to...
Read moreWe checked out Bruno’s last Saturday for date night after hearing about a special they are having for their 30th anniversary. I can see how they have been around for so long - it was truly delightful! We enjoyed every aspect of our experience.
Service: Our waiter, Efran, was perfect! He was so attentive and informative. He made sure our glasses were always full, and we wanted for nothing.
Food: Best calamari I’ve had in Texas! It was so light and not greasy or rubbery at all. Our entrees, veal parmigiana and pollo sorrento, were both delicious. Especially the buttery linguini that came with the pollo sorrento! The veal was prepared so well. Very tender and flavorful. They paired very well with our Chianti. We finished with a shared slice of tiramisu. Which, I must say, was light, fresh and not at all soggy - model tiramisu! Then their espresso was delicious and their cappuccino foam tight.
Ambiance: PERFECT! They sat us in the back room by the window. We were able to watch the rain and the little ducks swimming down the creek. They also had a live piano player. It was all so romantic and special!
Overall: Highly recommend. Bruno’s will now be in our regular date...
Read moreThis little Italian restaurant has been a favorite of mine for years. They have a variety of classics on the menu and the food is delicious. I ordered Chicken Marsala, which comes with salad. The waitstaff is attentive, and will happily bring whatever you need. An option to get grilled vegetables instead of pasta for those watching their carbs. Most restaurant managers don't understand how important clean, ventilated restrooms are, but at Bruno's the restrooms are exceptionally clean. After all, a clean restroom speaks volumes to your customers. Want a yummy cappuccino for dessert, go for it! I inhaled mine before I thought about getting a photo. Thick foam, balanced espresso and milk, with a dash of cinnamon on top. I can't say enough about the view of the canal and walkway - just beautiful in all seasons. If you are making reservations, be sure to ask for a window seat. During lunch, expect to see customers in...
