Knockout Tacos — Restaurant in Irving

I’m very disappointed at the false advertisement this place uses for their food just to get there and the food is completely under or over cooked or simply OLD! I’ve had my share of Mexican cuisine and even if it’s not the best tacos or food in general. It was always eatable. Unfortunately, I spent $16 on food and literally took 2 bites and walked out in disgust. I should have known something was wrong when I walked in at 12:15pm. Ordered and served food by 12:28 NBS. I ordered 3 tacos 2 chicken 1 steak. Rice and beans, and 5 piece Buffalo wings. So the wings had to have been old and reheated. I could cry b/c I felt disrespected. The wings were very black and old smelling as if they were spoiled. The chicken on the tacos were literally undercooked and looked as if they were the microwaveable chicken bites you get from the freezer aisle. The steak.. well that’s the only thing I could eat and literally put it down b/c the tacos do not come with NO TOPPINGS. I wasn’t even ask or told this which I’ll blame myself for that. However, all I was giving was meat and grilled onions on the side of my tacos. Grilled onions. No sauce no nothing & I asked for sour cream and was given a look as if I shouldn’t have asked for that. So the rice and beans were not your traditional rice and beans. They literally gave me WHITE RICE WITH FROZEN PEAS AND CARROTS!! I was LIVIT!!!!!!!!! So I tried to eat the beans & the beans were bland & taste as if they were fresh out of a can. I didn’t even drink my water I asked for out of fear of it tasting like tap. Now I’m not sure if this was done intentionally or these people just do not know how to run a business and jumped before they could walk. I pray & hope they rebrand FAST🙏🏾 B/c I don’t see this business lasting & I would hate for that to happen being in sure this business feeds their family! & I don’t wish bad on people abs their plans! I’m all about learning & growing & they have a lot to do! Those photos online and posted on the door are FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Today I enjoyed a nice lunch at Knockout Tacos. Yes, I read some of the reviews, and although they were almost perfect with a 4.5 ⭐ I wanted to try it and review it myself. Something that I always encourage everyone to do. As I came in, and not even two steps into this nice restaurant a very attentive lady said hi with a huge smile in her face. That is what a call a good start. She invited me to sit down and brought me a menu along with two questions "how are you doing today?" And "what would you like to drink today?" (All my conversation happened in Spanish). She gave me options, even international options such as Mexican Coke and American. I decide for the Mexican to bring back some of those early years of life in México. I asked for a couple of minutes to decide and then chose one of the specialties of the house, Kalua Pork Tacos. This taco comes with lite season pork, pineapple slaw, pickle red onions, cilantro lime cream all wrapped in a flour tortilla. What a taco. Every bite you could taste the freshness of the recently cooked meal. It was delicious with only one suggestion. Please find someone to make tortillas from scratch. The taco was good, but I can only imagine how amazing this could turn by wrapping that taste in a freshly made "tortilla de harina". Take my advice, you will be surprised. On the other hand restrooms were extremely clean. The restaurant was also in order. All chairs under the tables, floor swept, bar clean of any left behind drinks. The place is kept immaculate. To conclude:. Customer service was perfect, main dish was really good with the exception of the "tortilla de paquete" or want to be tortilla restaurant was nice, cozy and clean. Just absolutely delicious.

Let me start off by saying I’ve had plenty of tacos and I’ve had some from the motherland. This place lives up to the name. Knockout Tacos won with a K.O. The “Knockout Taco” is a beast of a taco that just keeps on hitting bite after bite. The Pastor is very well marinated and packs a very robust flavor that pairs beautifully with their options of salsas. The Lengua taco is very tender and is such a great and flavorful option. The Carnitas goes hard too. Every bite was just as good as the first bite. Not to mention they are quick and the price point for such quality food is so good. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody looking for a quick bite and for someone craving an authentic street taco. Do yourself a favor and experience this...
