This is my 2nd time visiting this place, first time was over 5 years ago. Went today, there was some people but it was not packed. Took around 5 minutes for someone to greet us or even acknowledge us at the door. Tortilla chips are not thin quality chips, are more similar to bag tortillas that you can get at the grocery store, which was a turn off right after arriving. Salsa was good at least and it had a good amount of hot.
I ordered a margarita and got the tiniest one I have ever seen and I am not exaggerating. The margarita glass was the same ones used for the beer (around 7 or 8 oz) and half of it is already ice since it was on the rocks. After that I ordered a 12 oz. beer which they gave me the same sized glass and without ice inside I couldn't put my whole beer in it at the same time, so that's how I know how much the glass holds. I finished my margarita before I could even order the appetizer. The guacamole real was good. Ordered the shrimp enchiladas which were good too but nothing out of this world and they were on the small side too. The enchiladas are served with refried black beans which was the same size of the little bowl used for the salsa from the chips. My friend ordered the carne asada which she said tasted good. For dessert we ordered the flan which had a bitter taste from the caramel. I still liked the flan, but seems the caramel was overcooked. Ended up paying over $80 for 2 people, which for that price I would expect all the food and service to be mind-blown unforgettable type. The waitress was attentive and gave us good recommendations about the food. The experience wasn't terrible, but I personally will not go back. Find it overpriced for the amount and quality of the food and drink. Included photo of the beer glass to show how big was the margarita, and half of it was ice. And the photos of my enchiladas, when the photo was taken I only had one bite from the enchiladas on the left. So if you are looking for a place that serves a decent size amount of food,...
Read moreUsed to loved this place!! Treated very rudely on Saturday... We been going to la Margarita for over 10 years, we love the food and the atmosphere, so we decided to celebrate my husband's birthday there. I reserved a table for 15 a week in advance, and double checked 2 day prior the date, everything sounded good until we arrived on Saturday 07/07/18 at 8pm. Restaurant was pretty much empty, we were greeted by the young lady who was very nice, but right after that the nightmare begun!! The "Manager" (which he doesn't have customer service training) by the name of "Ventura" (he said) He started rushing us with menus and stuff, even tho we told him our guest were on the way, we got there a bit earlier to welcome everyone. Not only that, his attitude towards our guests and us was awful, every time we ask a question about the menu he was rude, very unprofessional. After 30 minutes of my order I asked for my plate, and his answer was: Well you all ordered different stuff so it's not our fault... OMG!! What an answer!! Also, he offended one of our guest when she asked to get a bottle of water (she suffers from cancer) and his first answer was: We do not sell bottles here... (very weird to me) then she explained him she needed a bottle of water due to her condition, then he came back with a bottle of water and said: I have this one but it's 3 dollars... Come on! Really? Is that a good way to handle a customer? I got up and asked the cashier for someone in charge and she said he was the only one in charge... The whole party noticed the rudeness of this man, which ended up ruining what we expected to be a nice pleasant dinner for my husband. Not coming back, so sorry for whoever owns this place, it used to be one of...
Read moreFound this place while visiting the Irving area and I am so glad I did. It seems like a small little hole in the wall from the outside tucked between Aldi and Wingstop but it's much bigger on the inside. Cute decor and quiet.
The place was very clean and the staff were attentive and nice and helpful with any questions or needs.
The food was very very good. The queso was delicious and not too thick and not too thin, chips were great and not super thin like some places tend to have. Salsa was made there and served warm which I absolutely love.
The Nachos were big and had a lot of fajita chicken and steak on them.
The steak and relleno were superb. The skirt steak was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Topped with the best chile relleno I've had in a long time.the mixture of sauces and the delicate nature of the relleno with the goey cheese and the heartiness of the steak we're the perfect dinner. It also came with a side of la charra beans and rice. Which were excellent but I was already stuffed from the rest of the meal.
We also had two of the recommended margaritas. One that was blended and mixed with the sangria was strong and delicious and the other was the tatarina on the rocks that had an extra shot of Grand Marnier. Wonderful cocktail that paired well...
