Milwaukee Joe's Artisan Ice Creams — Restaurant in Irving

This place has a high rating so expectations were high and unfortunately reality did not live up to expectation. Pro: the ice cream itself was good. We got triple chocolate and jewel of India flavors and they really were delicious. However, we got here at 12:05 and it's supposed to open at noon. The door was unlocked but the sign was off and the tables and chairs were not put out for customers to sit. In fact they didn't really look open until about 12:30 (when two other employees finally showed up). The man behind the counter hadn't opened any of the ice creams and was out of every kind of listed cone except waffle, which wasn't even listed. They were out of several ice cream flavors listed on the wall. The man was apologetic and polite but...why not just remove the flavors you're out of if there are so many? The waffle cones were broken and our ice cream leaked out. Also there's a weird odor in the building, almost smells faintly of sewer water. It's not overwhelming and the place wasn't unusually dirty but it is noticable and this place does look like it could use a deep cleaning. I hate leaving a negative review but I love ice cream, especially the family owned or smaller chains and franchises. I just won't be back to...

TWO HAIRS. Absolutely awful. I have been going here my whole life and ever since they sold the place in the last year it has been terrible. Today was the worst. I found a hair in my first cone. Long black one. I told the owner and he argued with me. Horrible customer service. He gives me another cone (with much less ice cream than the first I might add) and it has a hair in it also!!! He AGAIN argues with me! I told him we want a refund and he says we have to give our punch card back? Then he comes back and gives us punch cards instead of money. I said, no we still want our money back. He then demands we give back the punch cards he JUST GAVE US! Then he doesn't give us a full refund that he says he's going to, instead just a refund for my ice cream even though the person I was with had the same ice cream that came from the same batch with hair! Through all this, he has the nerve to call ME rude. This is on top of the dozen other things that have gone down hill since they bought the place. Will be filing a complaint with the health department. Super gross, super rude, so...

For Years I have specifically ordered the Chocolate Ice Cream Cake to serve with any birthday cake we were having for birthday parties. The layers of ice cream with crushed cookies was Always a hit and would disappear Before the cake! Yesterday, I called the Southlake Store as always for the first of our many Spring/Summer Birthdays and was told I could get those in Flower Mound as they only had One, but Flower Mound had both in stock. I repeated the order to be SURE they would have the one with crushed cookies and then agreed to pick up in the after noon. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! The recipe has CHANGED!!! Thank God, the owner Parul, is So Sweet!! She explained they had SO MANY (???) requests for the change, that they switched to cake with one layer of ice cream BUT they WILL make the BEST ONE IF you give them two days notice!!! Don't forget! People, Seriously! Fresh, UNFROZEN cake WITH this AWESOME Ice Cream Cake IS SO MUCH BETTER!! TRY IT, And let's make MORE Requests! Lol..MAYBE they'll go back to having the BEST ready made!!...
