EDIT I've added a picture of the to-go BOWL from PotBelly's sitting next to a BOWL from Jason's Deli. No comparison - Potbelly's is just smaller. You understand, for me, the price is unimportant. I ask for to-go food so I can eat a bowl of soup later, for an additional meal. I want a bowl of soup and would pay more for more soup. I don't want to eat a "cup" of soup that I am hungry afterwards.
Original Review - Do not try the Chicken Pot Pie soup, mostly because of the way they made the soup.
Instead of having a crispy top or even bread on the side what they do is scoop 2 scoops of "dehydrated" (im guessing - consistency of powdered bread) bread crumbs.
It was if some one crushed the bread into a powder and then added it to a water - what would you get? Exactly - paste.
So what I really got was chicken paste with vegetables in snot colored thickness.
By far the worst soup I have ever eaten. Avoid this at all costs.
This is especially bad considering I could walk next door to Jason's Deli and get the same soup but 100 times better.
It was like they didn't even try to be good. I'm not sure what goes through someone's head when they decide to put a bowl of this on the...
Read moreI visited this location yesterday for lunch with my boyfriend. It was my first time ever eating at a Potbelly. I ordered the pizza melt and chicken pot pie soup. The soup was great but my sandwich did have a hair in it. It was handled appropriately and they did make me a new sandwich without question. After the incident I noticed none of the workers handling food were wearing hair nets or anything to keep their hair pulled back. One girl who was putting toppings on sandwiches had her hair pulled back in a low and loose ponytail with a hat on but her bangs/chin length hair was hanging down in front of her face and over the food. Another guy had very big curly hair that stuck out all around his hat. Regardless of where the hair came from as a food establishment I believe all workers should be required to wear some sort of hair net or be required to have their hair completely pulled back and out of the way to prevent incidents like this. Just wearing a hat does not prevent this if your hair is not completely covered. I probably won’t return, not solely because of the incident I experienced, but because they are not taking the proper precautions/health requirements when...
Read morePotbelly has been my favorite sandwich shop for a few years. I was first introduced to the place in Redmond WA and it quickly became a lunch go to place. I was so happy to find this one at my new work location in Irving! The formula is the same, yes you have to order, then you have to say it again when it comes out of the toaster oven, then finally you have to tell the cashier what you ordered. You need to know the system. Once you figure it out, and you have your favorites, and you go there a lot, pretty soon you don't even need to say anything because they remember you and they take care of their regulars. Always.
My order is the Mediterranean, on thin-cut multi grain (yes, they cut out the middle of the bun so not as much bread), and the usual toppings with onions and hot peppers added. Yum. My own personal comfort item when I'm homesick or when I'm missing all WA friends. It's a great place to bring new friends and introduce them to the joy of Potbelly. The ice cream sandwich is insane. Try it.
The parking at this location is tight. It's sandwiched in (yes pun intended) next to Chipotle, which is a popular place for sheep to eat. Don't go there. Go...
