Tonight was the first time I have visited mi cocina. What a treat!!!! From the moment I arrived I was greeted with a smile. I was meeting with a friend and despite the fact they were super busy I was able to get a table as soon as I walked in. Here is my experience.
Food: I was brought chips and salsa right away and got a drink. The chips tasted fresh and were warm. The salsa had heat but not enough to turn away those with less tolerance to spicy food. I ordered a bowl of queso and it was delicious and more than enough for two people. I had to make myself stop eating chips, salsa and queso because I didn’t want to ruin my appetite. We ordered chicken fajitas and beef fajitas. The fajitas came in skillets and were smoking which always makes the experience even better because your nose smells the food and your taste buds want in on the action. The chicken was tender and juicy and the meat was flavorful and tender. Some places load you up with veggies and skimp out on the meats but these guys had the perfect veggies to meat ratio. Tortillas were warm and soft and the beans and rice were delicious. It came with guacamole and pico de gallo. In the end we had fajitas to take home.
Service: from the lady that opened the door to the waitress that served us everyone was super friendly. I think it’s important to recognize my waitress by name, Hilda, because she was so nice and attentive. I ran out of chips and didn’t have to wait more than a minute before a lady named Deborah came by with a fresh basket of chips and a bowl of salsa. The buzzers and the hostesses were all super friendly. I believe that a great staff is what makes the difference. Even IF the food was not that good I would go there just to be around people that are friendly and super nice.
Atmosphere: this place is hopping which should tell you a lot about the atmosphere. They have an outdoor patio with a big TV. If you go at night they have beautiful lights. Giant, colorful pots of plants at the front give it the hacienda look. The inside is dim but it dark enough where you can’t read the menu. They have a beautiful bar and it is super clean. There are TVs inside and the decor gives it a fancy homely feeling without making it seem like you can’t touch anything.
All in all I loved this place and will definitely be...
