So I was in Urbancrest Ohio delivering and it was snowing and more snow coming, I shut down and decided to get some real food. The closest thing was fast food but somebody at the laundromat said you should try Memories across the street. I called to make sure they offered dine in and Karen answered the phone and was so nice she told me yes in fact they were serving food inside so I headed over, boy am I glad I did. I parked in their big parking lot no problem and walked in to a cozy little bar/pub with a nice atmosphere lots of TVs hockey was on basketball and even the news showing the approaching snow ice storm. I sat down at the bar ordered a drink and was greeted by the obvious regulars who knew that I wasn't from around here. It was wing night (Monday) 40% off who can beat that. So I started with a dozen wings with spicy Thai chili sauce recommended by (a regular) Doris... The keno Queen. The wings were delicious cooked just right and the spicy Thai chili sauce was phenomenal. That was a good start and so I perused the menu, asked others what they liked. Allen (another regular) said you can't beat the burgers. Karen the bartender agreed, and on the menu I spied an Italian burger that had salami, ham, provolone, pepperocini, lettuce and tomato, all on a really good well-cooked hamburger patty, served on a really good bun. This is one of the best hamburgers I have eaten in my whole entire life and I'm old. The whole time I'm talking to Karen about ordering the hamburger, Doris keeps saying get the cottage cheese get the coleslaw. They are really good, I looked at her kind of funny but she did recommend the spicy Thai chili sauce, so I obliged. You already know how I feel about the hamburger but let me tell you about the cottage cheese and the coleslaw the cottage cheese taste like somebody's grandmother is in the basement making homemade cottage cheese. I know they buy it from somebody somewhere, but I have never tasted the flavor of cottage cheese such as this, it tasted homemade, rich and creamy, just plain delicious. The coleslaw is homemade and has a unique flavor that I think is made with red wine vinegar and it makes the cabbage and the carrots so flavorful that the coleslaw was definitely better than any I have ever tasted, and definitely better than any I have ever made, and I've made a lot of coleslaw my life. So the moral to this story is if you're in Urbancrest and you don't go to Memories you're missing out, and if you go to Memories order the coleslaw or/and the cottage cheese as your side on whatever dish you order... everybody there says that everything on the menu is great.... (Its true) I've heard that line so many times it gets old, but if the Italian hamburger and the coleslaw and the cottage cheese say anything about memories is that the food is fantasmagoric. Absolutely delicious. Oh and it was very well priced, generous portions too. That's Karen in the picture(I asked her to take off her mask for the photo) with the Italian burger. I cut it in half to show the works. Belisima... Go to Memories make your own. You will like it. I...
Read moreOh my goodness folks!! If you haven’t already tried this place; its a-freaking-mazing!!!!! We tried the sampler appetizer: it has mini tacos, Mac and cheese wedges, wings (any sauce of your choice), and fried pickles. So much food!!!! And so many things made homemade!!! Also tried coleslaw, cottage cheese, salad- all portions way more than other places. And the burgers were so good. We ordered smokestack (beer cheese and pulled pork), bullseye (bacon and cheddar and bbq sauce) and the memories burger (mushrooms and bacon with Swiss). Fries are like at the fair too!! Mmmm mmmm good. The waitress Laurie was personable and lively and so funny! The entire staff was like that!! Place is lively too. So much joking and talking going on. Never know if you will run into someone you know. We are local eaters and love finding new mom and pop places to go. Came on the word of another review and we were not disappointed at all!! Laurie even told us that they have specials: Monday bone in wings are 40% off and Wednesday are whiskey night; all whiskey is $3 a glass and most of the appetizers are also on special-half off. So please if you are into stepping off the beaten course for a restaurant go here——you will start making you own memories there too; just...
Read moreI took my 93 yo mother to dinner. It - the overall experience - was absolutely fantastic! My mom ordered a cup of soup & a side of fries. I had their 12 oz rib eye, which was really good! Very little fat, juicy and cooked (medium) throughout. I brought half the steak & baked potato home. The wait staff were very attentive, friendly, and on their game. My mom uses a wheelchair at times, but this particular outing, she opted for her walker. I accompany her to the bathroom when she needs to. I told one server what I needed to do and asked her to check the ladies' restroom; I didn't want to surprise anyone and have them go kav magraw (sp?) on me. The entire staff jumped into action as if DEFCON 1 had been declared! The women's restroom was very nicely accommodated for someone with limited mobility. The price was reasonable. Other customers were polite and friendly. The ONLY reason I didn't rate the atmosphere with five stars is that the music was way too loud. Mom is rather "...sensitive..." to noise. I've been to Memories before and have enjoyed each visit. I wish I could go more often. Thank you to the staff for a...
