Hands down the BEST place to eat in Grove City. Absolutely the best kept secret in town. Maybe I take my family there a little too much because the other day one of our daughters wasn't with us and one of the waitresses said "you're missing one!". Not your typical staff and food service. The staff all seem like one big family and you can tell they love to be there.
One time we were seated and brought our drinks, orders taken moments later. After about 10 minutes, which didn't seem like a long wait for our food at all, one of the guys brought us out three appetizers. He apologized for the wait and said we wouldn't be charged for the apps. Our food came out about five minutes later. They care about their customers.
The first meal I ever ordered was the fajita burger. I had that meal at lest 12 more times, too afraid to try something else that wouldn't measure up to the fajita burger. It is insanely good. That's all I asked for for my birthday.
Of course I eat all the leftovers from my wife's plate and much of my kids', so I've sampled quite a few dishes. Everything is fresh and authentic and absolutely delicious. Kids tenders, fries, burritos, Mac and cheese, FRENCH TOAST IS UNREAL.
Chila Quiles. These simple words changed my life. After over a dozen fajita burgers I finally decided to gamble. I asked our waitress what her favorite dish was. She spoke these two enchanted words. My life was about to change, forever. She said it's not on the menu. It's occasionally a special but I could still order it even though it wasn't at the time. Super customizable. I got all my favorite flavors wrapped into one meal. I haven't looked back yet. I've had many conversations with friends and loved ones about Chila Quiles. If I truly love them I will surely share the good news. I'm also not sure if I've spelled Chila Quiles properly, but they'll know what you mean.
With a family of five, this is the ONLY place everyone agrees to eat,...
Read moreI met some friends there today. My first time visiting the place because my friend suggested it. The food was very good. When it was time to pay we all did seperate checks. My bill was $34.40. I paid my bill with $100. When I got my change back I had a lot of one dollar bills. It was 19 dollar bills to be exact, Two twenty dollar bills and one five dollar bill and one quarter. I knew something was wrong because the one dollar bills were covering the other money. I counted my money and it was short. I went to the counter to explain the error and the first thing I was told is they didn't have change. I didn't understand that. He gave me my dollar and told me he would have to get me my other change. When he came back to the table he had my changed, he apologized but told me they don't normally get $100 bolls. I understood that but when I gave it too you why not say we don't have change for that, or we don't take $100 bills. I would have given him a card. He only said that after I informed them my money was short. In a joking matter I said well for all of this you must be getting ready to give me a free dessert or something else. He said know I can't do that but again I am sorry and we don't normally get $100 bills. He said the next time you come I will give you something. SMH who will remember the next time. I say all of this to say
If you didn't have change you should have never took my $100, you could have given it back to me and I could have given you a credit card. You bring me back my change and it was short $1.35 but it's my money and I felt like you were just try to keep it. It's not my problem your restaurant didn't have change for $100 bill. This would have never happened if the server had told me we don't have...
Read moreI genuinely don’t understand how this place has a 4.6 on Google. Came here with a group of four, and not one of us will ever be back. It calls itself a Mexican Cuban diner, but the menu is a complete identity crisis. Pasta, burgers, burritos, and somehow not a single taco in sight.
We started with chips, queso, and salsa as an appetizer. The chips were stale, and both the queso and salsa came in tiny ramekins, barely enough for one person to dip. The salsa wasn’t even salsa. Just unseasoned pico de gallo. And this cost $8. Local Cantina would never.
I ordered what I assumed was a standard burrito plate. The server asked if I wanted lettuce, salsa, and sour cream, and I said yes because at any normal Hispanic restaurant, those are standard. Instead, I was charged extra for these items without any heads up.
The burrito? Completely forgettable. It was filled with boiled, flavorless chicken, plain white rice, and canned black beans, all dry and dull. The “salsa” came in a plastic cup. The same flavorless pico from earlier. There was nothing cohesive or satisfying about it.
Someone else ordered the fajita burger, which turned out to be a greasy frozen patty smothered in limp peppers on a bun so soggy it collapsed.
And to round things out, they added a 3% credit card fee with no notice. Just quietly tacked onto the check.
The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was fine, but that can’t save bland food, shady pricing, or a menu that feels completely directionless. We ate what we could, but no one left satisfied and a couple of us didn’t feel great afterward.
Total bust....
