Me and my wife were in Jackson for our 2 year wedding anniversary and looked up places for breakfast and came across Brent's. This took place on May 28th. And we decided to give them a try. Sad to say our experience was one of the worst customer service experiences we ever dealt with. We came in and waited to be seated. Place was moderately busy but not packed. We decided to take a seat at the bar than wait for tables to become available. We sat at the bar and no one acknowledged we were there as we sat there for over five minutes. No one said hello welcome in and someone will be with you. But a Lady and her daughter sat there and was served first. And when we asked can we get service, we were told by the server that she was responsible for the other half of the bar and the young man that was supposed to serve us was super busy and she would instead take our order. So she took our order and gave us our coffee and tea. We then proceeded to wait for almost an hour. And we we asked what was taking so long, we were told because the kitchen was backed up with online orders. That isn't our problem. The restaurant should have staff in place to handle the dine in customers. Seems like they were struggling to get it together. No communication between staff and kitchen. So We told them to cancel our order. And they had the audacity to still charge us for the coffee and tea. Shaken my head. It should have been free. Staff was not engaging and friendly. Very disappointed in our experience. Will never know what the food taste like and will never patronize Brent's again. Worst...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was visiting my parents in Jackson and looked up cool places to eat and was really excited to visit this place. Came out very disappointed. First, the furniture is all broken down. We sat in a booth and both chairs were broken. I almost fell back when I sat because the chair was not attached to the wooden part. The table was wobbling all around and our coffee and drinks was spilling every time we moved even a little bit. So the place could use some structural TLC. I get that itās an old building and thatās the whole point of the experience but thereās a difference between old fashioned and run down.( The place has some cool history to it though and the Apothecary cocktail bar speak easy looks very cool but it was closed when we went!) We waited around 50 minutes for our food and our kids just became very impatient after a while. We totally know that everything is short staffed these days but the place wasnāt even that packed and there was a lot of staff walking around and in the kitchen. Weād hoped at least the wait would be worth it but the food was not good. Everything was very greasy and cold and just not good. I get that itās diner style food but Iāve had some good diner food! We were excited to try the milkshakes but after waiting that long for food we decided to skip the milkshakes after we were done eating. I donāt recommend this place at all. It was cool to show the kids an old fashioned soda fountain place, and the place definitely has potential but not worth the money we spent. Iād...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReview from September 03, 2017 - I had a very emotional experience at Brent's this morning.
After dragging myself out of bed to prepare myself for the 7-minute drive, I arrived at the aforementioned establishment bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
Almost immediately upon securing a seat at the bar, an employee walked up to me, welcomed me, and carried on a brief, yet substantial, conversation with me.
While I was perusing the menu, I lifted my head and fixed my eyes upon an employee who was behind the counter. Not knowing that he was not a server, I posed a question about an item on the menu, to which he responded kindly and intelligently (that is, he knew the menu).
"I'll be glad to put that in for you, but I'm actually not a server. This is your server."
When I glanced slightly to my right, I was greeted by a warm, eager smile plastered on the face of a brunette called "Pam".
While awaiting my order, I happened to turn around to see how many people were dining there on such a beautiful Sunday at 10:34 in the morning. Another friendly employee spoke to me.
I received my order ever so promptly, and it was accompanied by a pleasant surprise.
Pam and I exchanged well-wishes, and I proceeded to the vehicle.
On the ride home, I reflected on the superb service, and was moved to a tear.
Prior to today, I never understood what was meant by "easy like Sunday morning".
I am full in every sense of the word.
Oh, and the meal...
