I ordered lunch for me and a few coworkers today and it was by far the worst experience I have ever had with food delivery. I called and ordered my food then the women put me on hold and a guy finished taking my order. Ok no big deal. He said he'd be there in about 30. So then 20 minutes later He calls me back saying he has never spoken to a customer or taken an order, it was his first day on the job and he needed my order again. So I've it to him and he tells me the food will be here in about half hour. 🤔🤔🤔Ok so in waiting and then my phone rings 10 minutes later. It's Chilangos again! This time it's a different guy who apologizes saying the women I had spoken to doesn't understand English and the guy I talked to does not take orders. He asked me for my order again... By this time I was starting to think someone was playing a joke on me but he insisted it was not a joke and apologized more. I heard they have really good food and my lunch time was somewhat flexible so I gave him my order again and the benefit of the doubt. He even read it back to me to make sure he had everything right. Well when it got there it was not right... Neither was co-workers. Our orders had no cold foods!! No lettuce, sour cream, guac or pico. What's a taco salad with no lettuce!!??! How do I eat my burrito with no sour cream!? They did give us free orders of chips and queso and free delivery and I tipped the delivery girl because hey it's not her fault but I'm still super disappointed and the food wasn't even that great. Read moreIf you're not too picky about your food, their portion size & moderate pricing will be appealing, but let's talk about what's really going on here. I totally agree about the few people who said it looked dirty. The first time I walked in there, I walked out because it looked gross to me. Where they make the food: Old equipment, worn out looking walls, open line food that looked old. I eventually tried it after visiting their other place that closed down...which I liked better.
I was actually pretty happy with the food. Especially with the two guys that always worked evenings. The portions were large and food seemed fresh. Unfortunately, those guys are gone. The 3 times I have been their since, I have encountered an unfriendly broken-english cook who makes the portions half the size. Food on the line is not as good. I've also been charged too much a couple times. Once I saw a young kid working there who couldn't even wrap the burritos and was spilling it everywhere. Tonight, the unfriendly cook didn't cook my burrito wrap enough and it was too raw. The chicken also tasted smokier than before, which I didn't like
My assumption is they are using low quality ingredients, hiring cheap help, and cutting corners on service to keep prices down. It worked for a while when the elements were right, not anymore. Read moreThis used to be our favorite place in Jackson. Current staff have let quality of food and service, as well as cleanliness decline substantially. Ingredients seem the same, in quality and freshness, but service and the way food is prepared needs to be revisited by management, and employees taught how to do these things right.
Current gentleman working behind the counter the last two times I've gone has assembled the sloppiest food I've ever seen. Impossible to eat without it becoming a sloppy, slimy mess. He then keeps his gloves on to take money, then use computer with same gloves, then start next order with those same gloves.
I got a burrito, then went next door to get a salad. While getting salad made, he came over with his one hand gloved (same glove he took money with) to reach into fresh salad toppings with his dirty hand and then started eating that food himself, with the glove on... so obviously management is to blame for leaving this person in charge of the store more than once. He is a new regular face there.
I will try again in a couple months and see if you fixed the problems. At which time this review can go back to a 5 star. This was written for management, so my wife and I can get our favorite restaurant back,...
