The black bean burger either needs to be changed or the price needs to come down. The black bean burger patty seems like it came out of a Morning Star box that you could get from Krogers, and the bread - though nice - is almost three times thicker than the patty, and I mean both top and bottom layer. I wouldn't go for it.
The fruit tea has always been my favorite drink, though on occasion it can taste a little watered down. The pitchers should have lids to avoid having anything fall inside since it's so open.
Their rolls have changed at least twice, and the flavor of their butter isn't as strong or flavorful as it used to be. I could sit there eating their rolls and butter with their strawberry soup, which I don't think is even available anymore. Here's to hoping it's just because of the season and not because it's discontinued.
I'm sad that, when I last visited, cheesecakes need to be ordered ahead of time to have it for dessert. I had hoped to get a slice to help make up for my sad meal the last time. Nothing doing.
I'm not saying 'don't go there' I'm just saying I miss how it used to be. I do agree that the atmosphere is wonderful and charming, especially on a rainy day and the lights are dim and warm. Would be a nice place for a cozy date to rekindle a romance or connection, especially when business is slow and there's only a handful...
Read moreI have visited this establishment several times but only purchased their dessert which i will say are very good. Service has always been good. Prices are reasonable. I decided to dine in and give their food a try. The rolls were a nice treat. Fruit tea was a hit at our table. I recommend this. Figured a place named Dumplins probably has some awesome dumplings so we ordered chicken and dumplings with side salad, shrimp and grits with side salad , and an apple dumpling to go for dessert. Shrimp and grits were pretty good. I was not expecting bacon but it gave it give give the grits a great flavor. Only thing i would have different is have the bacon chopped in the grits instead of whole strips. It was just too difficult to try to cut the bacon into bite size pieces. Otherwise it was great and i do recommend. Chicken and dumplings was lacking flavor. Actually it tasted like canned chicken was used to make this dish. The flavor and the consistency was just missing. We did not finish this dish. I do not recommend this dish. Apple dumpling, we started to eat on the drive home. It was very doughy, like it was not throughly baked. At home decided to put in the oven to finish cooking, nope same thing. Just threw the rest away. I will return for their other...
Read moreWe were in TN and took my mother-in-law here for her 90th birthday lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We had a party of 7. They were not very busy and we were seated right away. I believe we had reservations- because we had a larger party we wanted to be sure we didn’t have to wait long with her. I ordered the crispy apple grilled chicken salad. The apple slices are dehydrated which brings out their flavor. It was good. My husband had a burger. He was not impressed. We had read about their rolls and strawberry butter so we ordered some. Let me tell you YOU MUST GET THEM when you go. I had never had strawberry butter before. I’m convinced I need it in my life every day!! Lastly, we had ordered a whole strawberry cake (the reviews said it was a must try) and it did not disappoint!! I had never had such a moist cake, or strawberry in flavor, now it is my absolute favorite kind of cake! I only wish I lived in Tennessee so I could go here often. When they brought out the cake we started singing happy birthday and everyone on that side of diner joined in which made it super special for my mother-in-law. So if you were there on April 26th around 1pm - thank you for helping us make her feel super special! We will definitely go back every time we...
