Update as of 4/11/25
Stopped in for lunch after picking up some shoes I had repaired. I felt like they were closing, but they still had a couple of hours to go. The service was stellar, but the food was far from it. The friend chicken was way overcooked, hard, and super greasy. The collards were, I'm not sure. Corn was sweet and decent. The dressing even with cranberry sauce was not good. The peach cobbler crust was extremely doughy and undercooked. I try to patronize us, but was quite disappointed. The young lady was fixing plates, helping the cashier and looking out for everyone. I ended up trashing the entire plate and cobbler. $16 down the compactor.
Hubby and I visited for the first time this weekend and were not disappointed. I had the fried tilapia and hubby had the fried chicken. Delish! Hubby did say his mashed potatoes didn't have any flavor and tasted boxed. The peach cobbler was AMAZING. Tasted just like my grandmother's. It needed a little more thickening, but tasty. We can't wait to get back. The customer service was impeccable and the restaurant was clean. Oh, the prices were quite reasonable as well. We had two meals and a dessert for uner...
Read moreJust south of the Courthouse from the "My Cousin Vinny" movie is this hidden treasure. This place may appear unassuming, but it has a gigantic heart. I was invited to breakfast by a church member of mines. I wasn't sure what I should order, primarily because I really don't do breakfast. But he asked for some pancakes which I didn't see in the window. I was quickly informed that they are made to order on the griddle. Just know if you visit for breakfast and don't get the pancakes, you have robbed yourself of the "Golden Ticket". Those other pancakes restaurants don't even come close to these. The hospitality is A-1. You wouldn't be treated better if you were in a 10-star restaurant. Ms. Liz convinced me to order lunch just by her polite manner and wonderful character. The amazing things was I didn't even finish my breakfast, but I bought lunch to take home. The price is another wonderful highlight. Additionally, this is a Veteran Owned business. A Navy man just like myself. He's gone home to be with the Lord, but his wife and family seem to be holding it down. If you anywhere near Jackson, GA, do yourself a favor...
Read more11/9/24. Went to eat with a friend after church. Long line. Service was not good at all I asked for a chicken breast , dressing, and Lima beans. Strawberry cobbler. When I asked for a chicken breast, she told me they did not have any they had wings and legs. I told her I wanted a chicken breast and ask would they be making anymore. as it has it they had a whole pan of chicken in the back that had chicken breast I think they were just wanting to sell the wings and legs or something they didn’t want me to have the chicken breast. The servings of food were very.small. The people in line before me had such large servings their plates were running over. Thanking that in a cafeteria, the serving should pretty much be the same as we are all paying the same price for them. My strawberry cobbler was about three bucks. It was the smallest dessert I’ve ever seen all and all the mail was nearly $15 I really don’t feel that it was worth it when I finally got the chicken breast it was over cooked ,dry, and too crispy was very...
