I was on a journey from Columbus, Ohio to Houston, Texas and it took me through Jackson Tennessee. I am a coffee snob. I used to roast coffee beans.
I was not happy that the coffee shop was not a standalone building but lost in some university somewhere. However, it was pretty easy to find because the coffee shop was on the sign out front. And the coffee shop was in the front of the building, inside of course. The building is the first magnificent building you see as you enter the campus.
I was excited that I had beat the rush because everyone was in class. I asked the barista what was on drip today. I am a drip coffee drinker. He seemed very reluctant to answer my question, but finally he answered that it was Colombian and that it was medium roast. (Insert eye roll here) “Medium roast?” Apparently no one does light or light to medium roast.
Because of his response, I only ordered a small. As I sipped on my coffee on my way back to interstate 40, I said to myself, “I should’ve gotten a large.”
