The place was 27 top bar of of USA in 2020 and there are many more recognization. I was very excited to go there and take my wife for a date night. We went when they were having Christmas theme based menu going on. The decor was all Christmas based too. The way drinks were made, I was able to taste each drink and can see how it made the list. But due to Christmas theme the ingredients were not the best to our liking. Also just to note it felt a bit more pricey for Jackson city. But definitely try it out and it’s in legendary location of Brent’s drug then why not. You can take food from there and enjoy the bar which we didn’t knew either lol

Came here while in town on business and thoroughly enjoyed my time. It’s literally set up in the back of a restaurant, so you feel like you’re going to a super secret place. The drinks were so good and the fries were just what I needed at that moment. Our bartender was really cool and helped me decide on a mixed drink. I liked the decor and the vibe. I thought the restaurant out front was cute too. It had a 50s vibe with its decor. The Apothecary is not a big space, but you felt like you were the only ones there while enjoying your drinks. It was a fun night and I’d go back.

Truly a cool vibe....walk into a 1950s drug store, decor with soda fountain, counter , nice bright colors, neon lights in window ..throw back of an era of peace, innocent times, great fun music, walk through a door with a peep hole entry part heavy curtains and enter into a desk easy created out of a 50s pharmacy....good selection of top shelf liquor, Vodka, Bourbon, Cognac, specialty drinks Moscow Mule, Manhattans, mint Juleps, ....loved the atmosphere, great service and good bar food...really nice local find....in the Fondren neighborhood....

If I could give half of one star, I would! I must express my deep disgust for the awful experience I endured at the Apothecary Bar in Jackson, MS. It is with great disappointment that I recount the appalling customer service and terrible attitude displayed by bartender Kate Fortenberry. Allow me to provide a detailed account of the distressing events that unfolded during my visit.

As a graduate student and working professional, I arrived at the bar with my cohort of 17 individuals, eager to patronize the establishment. However, any anticipation of a pleasant evening was shattered when I encountered an issue with the drink I had selected. It was prepared far too strong for my taste, prompting me to kindly request a replacement. Yet, to my utter dismay, Kate's response was nothing short of dismissive, condescending, and utterly devoid of any inclination to find a solution. Her attitude was a shocking betrayal of the hospitality one expects from a bartender.

As an individual with expertise in the art of mixology, Kate possessed the knowledge and ability to remedy the situation. She could have easily offered to adjust the drink by adding specific ingredients to balance the flavors and salvage the experience. Unfortunately, she opted for a path of coldness and rudeness, leaving me and my fellow 16 patrons with no choice but to abandon the establishment indefinitely. We vowed never to return as long as Kate remained a bartender there, for her demeanor tainted the entire atmosphere.

As a representative of the state tourism industry, I enthusiastically recommended the Apothecary Bar as an outstanding and unique location for an enjoyable experience. However, this incident has forced me to remove it from my personal list of recommendations. It is truly disheartening to witness someone as inept as Kate occupying a role that demands exemplary customer service. My heart aches for the business owner and the diligent team members who strive to create a pleasant environment, only to have their efforts overshadowed by Kate's incompetence.

This distressing encounter was not the first instance in which I experienced Kate's lackluster customer service. Such repeated displays of inadequacy cast further shadows on her suitability for the job. I implore her to consider pursuing an alternative career path since bars should embody an ambiance of coolness and enjoyment—qualities that she sorely failed to deliver.

In closing, I must caution anyone considering patronizing this establishment to brace themselves for an onslaught of abysmal customer service. The experience was nothing short of repulsive, and I fervently hope that management takes appropriate action to rectify this...

You know, when one goes to a bar one would (and should) expect great service and great (or at least good) conversation. Having owned and operated a bar, I know this is a key principle to good business. Well, the service was decent, but the conversation last night from the bar manager...the only thing I could relate it to would be like a winter in Antarctica. We had the WORST experience last night thanks to the bar manager at The Apothecary. Recommend human relations training for this individual. Literally ZERO social skills were demonstrated by her last night. Zero response from her when asked for service or just a general question. To note an incident specifically, when approached (without a single word spoken) by an individual in our party, who wanted to ask her a simple question, her initial response was "I'm uncomfortable". Really? Realize that no question had even been asked at that moment in time. Unacceptable! After an apology by this individual from our party, the question was asked, and he got a minor (almost a "go away you are bothering me") response followed by another "I'm uncomfortable". My friend apologized yet again and once more before concluding this "conversation". The Apothecary was a rather enjoyable place on a previous visit thanks to Julian and it makes me very sad that it took this single individual to ruin what was (prior to visiting The Apothecary) a very enjoyable night out with a friend and family. FYI, Bird was a good bartender last night, but her manager...I have no decent words to describe. I truly hope this type of situation can be rectified before a loss of another single patron of The Apothecary. I truly am sorry that The Apothecary will not be seeing my patronage in the foreseeable future. ...

As many of you may know, Brent's Drugs is referred to as one of the classic, must visit, food joints in Jackson Mississippi. I would like to share my adequate experience at this business. I read up somewhere that Brent's used to be a drug store, but then it eventually became a place for locals to get soda, candy and something good to eat. So I was very excited to try out their food.

It's now called Brent's Soda Fountain - although the old Brent's Drugs was a scene for a movie known as The Help. I really had high expectations for this restaurant, and while the environment was absolutely stunning, I'm also very much interested in how the food will taste. I was very impressed with the friendly blue color used to decorate most of the restaurant. When you walk inside, you're immediately taken back to a different era, which is really neat for those with a big imagination.

While I was very grateful for the service that I received, I was a bit disappointed in the cheeseburger that I had purchased that afternoon in Mississippi. The fries weren't anything special either. But what saved the day was the milkshake. It was so perfectly prepared and I can tell that a lot of love was out in the mixing. While I wouldn't get excited about the food, I would emplore you to go and visit this joint for the milkshake and...
