⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands Down the Best Pizza Experience in Jacksonville
If I could give Bronx House Pizza more than five stars, I would in a heartbeat. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had stepped straight into a true New York slice shop but with a level of warmth and hospitality that’s rare anywhere.
Let me say this clearly, the pizza is unmatched. Perfectly blistered crust, rich tomato sauce that actually tastes like tomatoes, cheese that stretches like a dream, and toppings that are clearly fresh and thoughtfully sourced. Every bite felt like a love letter to authentic Bronx-style pizza. The menu is stacked with options, but honestly, even a plain slice here could outshine the fanciest pie from somewhere else.
But the real reason this visit was unforgettable? Amose.
Amose isn’t just an employee he’s the heart and soul of the place. Friendly, welcoming, sharp as a whip, and passionate about what he does. He made me feel like family from the second I walked in. Whether it was helping me pick out the perfect slice, offering honest recommendations, or just shooting the breeze about food and life, his energy elevated the whole experience. You don’t just get great service from Amose you get a vibe. A rare one.
Places like Bronx House Pizza are what keep local food culture alive authentic, unpretentious, and unforgettable. If you’re in Jacksonville and haven’t been yet, stop what you’re doing. Get over to Beach and Hodges. And if you’re lucky enough to be greeted by Amose, know you’re in for something special.

Read moreOur experience today was extremely disappointing. We walked into total chaos - every table was full, which we didn’t mind, as we were willing to wait; but, there was no system whatsoever. No host, no list, no direction - just a seat-yourself free-for-all that left guests confused and frustrated.
To make matters worse, what appeared to be the manager or owner was occupying one of the only open tables - not to serve guests, but to fill cheese and pepper shakers. When I asked if that table would become available, he flatly said no, as he needed it for his prep containers. Prioritizing condiments over customer seating? That set the tone.
When we finally did get a table, the service was just as bad as the server waa disinterested, inattentive and slow. We ate apps with saucy fingers, no plates and no cutlery/napkins... only because we asked twice and still didn't receive them. We inquired about the advertised free cannoli giveaway, only to find out it was offered in exchange for a positive Google review. Well, we quickly determined they wouldn’t want our honest one, so we passed.
The food? Mediocre at best. I'd honestly say the deep dish at Jet’s Pizza is better, and there are plenty of far superior NY-style pizzerias right here in Jacksonville. The food gets a 3 at most, and the service and overall experience aren’t worth any stars.
It’s a damn shame—especially given how few dining options we have in the Hodges area. We had high hopes, but unfortunately, we won’t be back.

Read moreWe visited the Hodges location last week and did not have a good visit. Me, my wife and our toddler arrived just after 7 pm on Tuesday. The server (Naemi) came by and we asked if they had a booster seat or high chair. We saw her doing all sorts of things, getting stopped by other tables, but not coming back to see us. Finally at 7:40 she comes to tell us there are no booster seats or high chairs, and we don't see any being used, so I guess they just don't have them or she was wrong. But, almost 40 minutes to take our order, drinks, and tell us no seat for our toddler? Not sure if you know toddlers, but they are not patient and some self awareness here would have gone a long way.
We had to switch our order from dine in to take out because it took so long just to get our order taken and I had to be back home by 9 pm. When our order finally came about 8:10, the server had put in for an adult's penne pasta with red sauce in error and we had to point it out so she changed to charge us for the kids' size even though we probably had the adult size in the box. The place wasn't slow, but it wasn't jammed in there either, and there was plenty of servers. There were open tables when we arrived, but we seemed to draw the short straw on servers. Tables / booths on the right side were also very close with no room for space.
The food was mid and there are too many good pizza places around town to overcome this...
