Five Guys — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I absolutely love this location. I moved here a few months ago, and honestly the food here is the best of any five guys I've eaten at. Everything is always perfect and the fries are always hot and they always serve the appropriate amount of fries for the brand standard, which is overflowing in the bag outside of the cup that is provided. In addition, multiple members of my family are highly allergic to wheat, and so we have a hard time eating out because of the extreme sensitivity. The reason we keep coming back, one of the reasons in particular, is that every time we mention that we have a wheat allergy the most unbelievable care is taken with our food- we only see this type of care and allergy management in the highest end restaurants. As soon as we indicate that we have an allergy, one person in particular, Jacob, always is listening and coordinates the rest of the staff to make sure that we do not have a contamination. One time someone was taking our order and said to the line that our order has a wheat allergy, and Jacob came over and indicated that this was a good job, but that the individual should be more discreet because sometimes people can be offended by this – we were definitely not offended, however, I was so grateful for the care and management of our experience and we absolutely never feel like it is a burden. Today (12/18/24) I asked if he was the manager and was absolutely shocked to find out that he was not because of how he has owned the experience for me and my family every single time that we go in- making sure to speak to us directly regardless of where he is working in the restaurant, and also giving what I would consider a top-tier customer service experience. I am in multi-unit management myself, and this is exactly what I am looking for in order to give a five-star review of any location. To reiterate, the service and care we get at this location far surpasses any other restaurant in its category, and certainly achieves a standard that we don't usually find except in the finest dining establishments. This location at the Oakleaf Town Center is our go-to and we tell everyone to go there. Kudos to the whole staff for ensuring that my family is safe and our food is as good as it can be. Gross! This was about the worst burger I have ever had in the worst ambience I can ever remember and about the most expensive too!

The burger had soft bread, toasted to be sure, but still soggy. The lettuce, tomato, and onion were passable, but the (double patty) burger was completely tasteless and the selection of available toppings and condiments very limited. I have had better burgers from street vendors.

There was all kinds of food and trash on the floor, and you had to be careful where you walked for fear of stepping in discarded french fries. There was music playing, but it was loud and obnoxious and did nothing to enhance the atmosphere. The acoustics of the building do not lend themselves to music anyway.The restaurant is decorated in red and white, which is hard on the eyes to say the least. The seats are uncomfortable and the tables were dirty.

I did not have the fries, but it would have been $12 for a hamburger, small fries, and a drink of cold tea with ice, so pretty expensive by my standards for a substandard quick meal or snack.

I normally don't leave reviews, but TONIGHT I had to. I placed an online order for pickup. I ordered 2 little bacon cheeseburgers, bacon wrapped hotdog, large Cajun fry and a regular fry. We looked in the regular fry bag and it's this teeny tiny cup of fries with literally 10 fries in the cup and no fries in the bag for almost $7. The bacon was BURNT to a crisp on the burgers and wrapped hotdog. One burger was literally in pieces we thought it was half of a patty. I called and spoke to the sweetest lady her name was Ren, she apologized for the way my husband was treated when he went to get the food and how our food was presented to us. Ren had amazing customer service! She even told me that the General Manager would be reaching back out regarding this issue. When this location first opened up it was well worth the $40-50 you'll be spending. However this time put a really bad taste in my mouth and I can't say I would patronize this...
