Hubby really wanted a burrito and we tried three other places that each had a 45 minute plus wait before we decided to give Fresh Mex & Co a try. On entering we were greeted by the bartender who came to the counter to take our order. The look and feel of the restaurant is very nice and the bartender/order taker was very nice and friendly. We ordered a Chimi Steak Taco ($3.90), a regular Steak taco ($3.90), a smothered barbacoa burrito ($11.90) with a side of queso ($2.50), a lemonade ($2.50), and an unsweetened iced tea ($2.50). This is a fast casual type restaurant so you order and pay at the counter and they give you a number. You get your own drinks and utensils (plastic only) and the food is brought to your table. The food came out really fast and looked incredible. The Chimi Steak and regular Steak tacos were generously portioned and very tasty. Unfortunately, the barbacoa burrito was essentially inedible. The barbacoa was way over seasoned and salty, which was enough for us to take it back up to the counter. Additionally, the plastic utensils were completely inadequate to cut through the burrito (it was smothered in cheese so it can’t really be picked up to eat) and there was no doubt the fork would have broken if we had gone more than a couple bites in. I took the burrito back to the counter where a different employee asked what was wrong. I explained about the barbacoa and the difficulty with the utensils. She did not apologize and simply said ā€œwhat do you want me to do?ā€ I asked to exchange the burrito for two more tacos, which she did but I didn’t get the sense she was particularly interested in making things right. This meal for two people was $27.20 before tax and gratuity. At that price point I expect - at the very least - actual metal utensils. I also would have preferred to see table service. The same meal at Chipotle (which this restaurant seems to be a more refined and locally owned version of) would have been $5+ less and there would have been three tacos instead of two. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be going back any time soon.

When I first tried this place a few years ago, I ordered the mahi taco. I loved it so much I ordered another as I drank my margarita and munched on my nachos. The mahi was well seasoned, cooked just right and the sauce paired with it tasted delicious. I also loved the mangos diced inside of it. There was a sweet, savory and slight kick from the sauce. It’s what made me come back some months later. The next time I came back here and ordered the mahi taco, it did not taste or replicate the experience I had the very first time I ate here. It was bland and the sauce was soupy on my soft taco but still had some kind of flavor. That little bit of flavor helped me finish. I was highly disappointed. I wondered if there were different instructions on preparing the dish. These pictures are from the night I first tried their barria tacos. The presentation was lovely and I was excited to find out these were really delicious tacos. I loved the queso, it is delicious by itself and on the tacos. I ate everything. I ordered the mahi taco as well but was disappointed again. Third week of December I ordered the barria tacos again and was thrown for a loop. They didn’t taste seasoned, I had to get up and find the salt to shake into my tacos and my dipping sauce. I was not sure if it was me or the dish that changed. I also iksnayed the mahi taco and ordered steak instead which worked out pretty well. My experience here is hot and cold. The food is inconsistent in taste. I tried it a couple of times to give an honest determination. I really want to give it a 3.6 rating but I can only give 3 or 4.

Came here one night on a whim since I had passed it so many times, I had to stop in and check it out. It had good reviews and I love Tex-Mex so I was pretty excited. On a Friday night during what would typically be the dinner rush, we walked in and there was one table occupied in the entire place šŸ¤” After a few minutes standing at the register, over walked the "bartender" who took our order and through the window stood the one cook to prepare the food. Being in the industry in the past, I have never seen a restaurant operate with 2 employees but there was never another one to be seen all night. That being said, the food was pretty good and the one employee was friendly, however the small draft Dos Equis for $7 was pretty steep for a cheap Mexican beer. I don't think this will become a regular spot for me with so many good Mexican restaurants in the area, nothing really special stood out to me here.

The food is phenomenal, the service has been phenomenal up until YESTERDAY!!! I asked the the short White Guy to wipe the table PLEASE, AND TO sweep up THE FOOD that was there, he said ok, we've been busy. The table WAS EXTREMELY STICKY. MIND YOU, the table was dirty when I walked in, but I love sitting there. So by the time I had ordered, it was cleared, but not wiped, and thats when I asked him .He wiped it, but some of the food particles was swept on the seatšŸ¤¦šŸ¾šŸ¤¦šŸ¾šŸ¤¦šŸ¾. Obviously whatever was on the table must've been a a drink or tea, because even after he wiped it, it was super sticky, as if the rag that was used, had been used to wipe up something sticky, but not rinsed out., so when he wiped, it seems to have made it worse. So I went back to the counter again!!! And explained the table was still super sticky, you could actually see where the stickiness was. He said to me " OkkkK honey now" in AGITATION. ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME, I WAS REQUESTING SOME PAPER TOWELS WITH LIKE SOME DETERGENT CLEANER ON IT, SO HE WAS LIKE I COULDVE USED WHAT WAS ON THE TABLE!!! What I wanted was some soap to put on it. He gave me pure attitude I told him I will wipe it, don't do me like that, trying to lighten the situation, and he had an attitude. He says he was so busy, but you he was going back and forth to eat his food he had in the back. Not only that, the skinny black girl was also on the floor. He ended up giving me some paper towels, which I wanted soap on it cause of how STICKY IT WAS. AS I BEGAN TO walk away, he rolled his eyes and I knew he about to say something, because him and the black skinny girl looked at me, and he said something to her yes I'm definitely assuming THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT ME, THE CUSTOMER!!! I SAID TO THEM, TREAD LIGHTLY, I KNOW YOURE TALKING ABOUT ME ASK THE COOKS, BECAUSE THEY WERE LOOKING AS WELL, DUE TO HIS DEMEANOR AND IS GOING BACK AND FORTH., I TOOK THE PAPER TOWELS AND SATURATED WITH THE WATER FROM THE FOUNTAIN MACHINE. IF HEWAS SO BUSY, HE Still MADE TIME TO GO TO THE BACK AND EAT, AND COME BACK UP FRONT. PULL YOUR CAMERAS, YOU WILL SEE EXACTLY WHO, AND WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. I LOVE YOUR FOOD, BUT I can take my money somewhere else, if the person thats suppose to have to handle my food, clean a table, sweep the food up off the floor, is going to NOT CARE!! I've had dealings with him before, and he was pleasant. But if I'm the customer, how dare you get mad at me, for telling you that the table was STILL EXTREMELY STICKY!!! I REALLY DIDNT WAN T TO EAT MY FOOD AFTER THAT, BECAUSE I FELT THAT HE MIGHT VE TAMPERED WITH IT OR SOMETHING. YES HE AND THE BLACK SKINNY GIRL WAS SPEAKING ABOUT ME , AS THEY THOUGHT I COULDNT SEE THEM.. IVE RECOMMENDED SEVERAL PEOPLE TO THIS PLACE, BECAUSE THE FOOD IS GREAT, BUT YOUR STAFF GETTING MAD 😔 😔 😔 AT THE CUSTOMER BECAUSE I'M LETTING YOU KNOW, THE TABLE IS STILL STICKY!!! HAD HE PUT THE RAG IN SOAP AND WATER, AND RINSE IT OUT, THEN IT MIGHT'VE DID THE TRICK. ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS COME BACK OVER TO THE TABLE, TO SEE FOR HIMSELF!!!! IF My review GOES Without A RESPONSE FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER, THEN THAT WILL LET ME KNOW YOU DO NOT CARE!!!!!!! I...

The food is great. I love how fresh and delicious it always is. I ordered online this time and I will NEVER do that again. You need to update pick up I instructions because I could NOT pick up at the bar. I patiently waited at the bar because when I ordered online it said no need to wait in the line just go to the bar. I waited there idk how long cus I wasn't bothered yet then. The redheaded bar tender told me to wait in line and get it from the cashier. After 20min in this line, got up to the cashier to be told it wasn't ready. I stepped aside to wait more and someone comes over to ask me the name on my order again and I tell them and say I placed online and was supposed to pick it up like 25min ago I get stores get busy and wasn't even trying to be like a "ugh I had to wait" but more so a "I think it really should be done if not almost done" the dude (green and white trucker hat with a dog on the front) was snippy and just cut back with a "ya we're busy" as I watched him look up my order and re print the "lost" ticket from the register up front and give it to the kitchen for them to start it. The men who placed their order in front of me in the order line were sitting at a table eating their food when I finally left with my food. No im sorry, no something happened, no we dont know what happened but we're on it, no oopsie heres a drink while you wait. Literally any acknowledgement of me as a customer whos order has gone wrong. Just a snippy wait essentially, when I did! Almost an hour past my original quoted pick up time when I ordered online.

Edit: to reply to owner response: I would have loved to address it when in the store but I couldn't get an employee to pay attention to me for longer than 1/2seconds and I wasn't going to make a scene in a busy store demanding a manager. At that point im upset and hangry and just wanted to leave.I didnt go review right away I waited till I wasn't so upset about it all and still felt like it was something that should be addressed. Again id like to reiterate I understand things go wrong ESPECIALLY with new systems had he or anyone simple said sorry new system there's some kinks we're working out it could have been...

I've driven past this place on the way to M Shack many times and finally decided to stop in. I met someone for a work lunch and we were greeted the moment we walked in, by a table of 6 to 8 people drunk at noon, yelling and laughing so loud it drowned out the music. This went on the entire time. Later I noticed the workers themselves had headphones in to block it out. Why didnt anyone ask them to keep it down or tell them to leave?

I asked if the tacos came on corn tortillas and was told they could. I said I'd like to do that and then ordered 2 tacos, Carne asada and Chicken cheese steak, and a side of rice and beans.

The person I met for lunch had to repeat themselves almost everything they said because of the continued yelling and laughing.

When the tacos arrived they were on flour tortillas and the rice and beans I ordered showed up as black beans.

It took multiple tries to get the attention of someone to ask them to remake the tacos.

They came back fairly quick but it was obvious they had just slid the old tacos onto corn tortillas and sent it back out without even reheating it. which was confusing as the place was almost empty.

The corn tortillas were completely raw and the taco contents were disgusting. The meat was tough and overly salty. there was almost more onion than "steak" on the asada taco. The "steak" was shaved sandwich meat that fell out of the tortilla as soon as I tried to take one bite, up on which the taco disintegrated in my hand.

Through all of this, the table by the door was getting drunker and louder and still wasn't done by the time we left.

It was one of the most disgusting and disappointing "tex-mex" meals I've evr tried to choke down. the one bit I got through of the cheese steak taco gave me heartburn for hours from the congealed queso.

The workers looked run ragged and I felt bad for them as they had to check out people and run orders to tables.

I'm never going here again and almost went to M Shack to get a burger To-Go because I was still hungry.

It's obvious this place caters to people who have never had real tex mex and just want to get cheap drinks on their lunch break.

I'm sorry for anyone else that...
