Having been to, and thoroughly enjoyed, another local Brazilian Steakhouse in the area, I decided to try and treat two guests on Father's Day at this establishment.
If you are looking to spend money on a dining experience I would NOT recommend. Our server addressed our table about 5 minutes after being seated. She gave a brief description of the meats and directed the table to the "buffet/salad bar".
I had requested a glass of ice water and a bottle of wine. Having been a server in a five star dining restaurant, I had high expectations that my guests would be spoiled and enjoy the experience.....
I went to wash my hands before approaching the buffet with my guests, when I got back to the table the bottle of wine I had ordered was opened and poured, set back on the table with the cork in the bottle.
I expected to have the bottle presented, afforded to taste, and poured to the rest of the table. It was a bottle of wine over $100, a nicer wine glass would have been appropriate.
The people bringing the meat were fantastic, not once did we want for the table side service from them. Our used plates were stacked on our table, not once removed. The server dropped off 3 side dishes, french fries, plantains, and I think mashed potatoes. When I asked about the sides, the server stated, "don't worry, it comes with it". I didn't care about possible cost, it would have been appropriate to explain the sides and ask if there was anything we needed.
Did I mention I asked for ice water more than twice, drank my guests water until my water was refilled. Once guest ordered club soda with no ice and no lemon or lime. The first time was with ice and lemon, the second no ice but a lemon 🤦🏻♀️
He finally asked for a bottle of sparkling to "fix" the problem.
When I asked for the manager I had so much to express I was utterly speechless. I had hoped to have dessert and after dinner drinks! I left my credit card with one of my guests and they spoke to the manager and paid the bill. The manager, Isaiah, stated, "she's new". He made no attempt to rectify or make it right. Lol I noticed we paid for the club soda we didn't have!
I should have taken them to Ruth's Chris, the money would have been about the same and the EXPERIENCE night and day!!! The manager/management is responsible for ensuring staff are educated and ready to provide exceptional service, especially...
Read moreI attended a business dinner here with 2 clients, my partner, and two members of my team (6 top a. The atmosphere is very "business casual" (not too stuffy, but not Hooters either), and the food was (for the most part) VERY good. My expectations for the rodízio fare might have been a little too high. All but two items were grade-A. The pigs they got the ribs from must have been on a starvation diet, as there was so little meat on the bones, and one of the roasts (they were serving 4 different kinds at once, so I apologize for not recalling which was subpar) was nearly burnt. I suspect you're unlikely to have the same experience as me, but it's worth mentioning. The salad bar was fantastic, and the myriad options could easily give a person analysis paralysis.
The service was top-tier, and I would like to especially give kudos to the waitress who was on top of refilling the waters. It may seem trivial, but multiple times, I found myself turning my head from the conversation to realize that my drink was refilled without me noticing anyone approaching the table. Thank you, whoever you are: you're an angel!
The rest of the staff seemed suitably professional, prompt, and vibrant enough to elevate the mood of the dinner without being a "Me Monster." I believe the manager was walking around to ensure that each table was satisfied with their experience, but she did not linger/attempt to pull attention from the guests or the dinner. VERY well executed.
To give Texas de Brazil the credit it deserves, I will share one anecdote that is indicative of my entire experience: I typically can not stand to remain sitting at a dining table (in a restaurant, at least) after the dinner/dessert has been eaten. As someone who worked in the hospitality industry, I prefer not overstaying my welcome or depriving a server of additional opportunities to make their tips. Mostly, I just don't like forcing small talk, especially when dinner is finished. That said, I sat comfortably for 15-20 minutes after everyone finished their meals. I didn't feel the "Okay, thanks for coming. Now leave." kind of vibe that you sometimes experience in higher end establishments. All in all, I can confidently recommend Texas de Brazil whether you're entertaining a Diplomatic Ambassador, a wedding party, or your Uncle Kevin...
Read moreHonest review: The main rooms atmosphere was nice, but once you go to their bathrooms you can see that cleanliness is not their top priority. Our waiter was decent when he was around, but often made himself scarce. The crew that brought the meat was good. Food was ok, the bar could use a staff cleaning up after customers, but had a decent selection. I personally enjoyed the smoked salmon and mystery hard cheese. The curry cod wasn’t good. As for the meat that gets brought to the tables will be reviewed individually. The lamb, chicken, pork and sausage was way overcooked. Zero moisture left inside. They had top round seasoned 3 ways, and all of them was seasoned nicely. I do enjoy top round even though its classified as a cheap cut. Unfortunately if you like yours rare, you’ll have to wait just a bit longer for service. The New York strip was probably my favorite. It was seasoned well, and the most tender piece they had. The flank steak was flavorful, but it is another cheap slice of meat. The beef ribs was pretty good (my 2nd favorite), but they was very stingy with portions of it. It only came around once, and when I requested more when they was at my table, they told me no. Kind of weird for an all you can eat restaurant. The bacon wrapped filet was ok but I’m fairly certain it wasn’t really the tenderloin. When I dissected mine, it just didn’t look like a cut of a tenderloin. Which would make since to cut actually cost for profits. This was my 8 year olds favorite though. Mid way into the meal they brought garlic mashed potatoes and syrup covered plantains, both was very good.
Now we added several desserts and those was the star of the whole meal, but you will have to pay a separate charge for those.
Final feedback would be clean your restaurant better, make wait staff be more attentive, don’t over cook meats, and don’t be stingy with items. For the cost your customers are paying, you expect the these to be reviewed over and handled accordingly.
It’s a fun experience. Women enjoy the way it looks, experience of food being delivered in this manner. Men will love the variety of meats coming. If you’re a young man you’ll enjoy it better, so you can prove how much protein you can pack in.
