Larry's Giant Subs — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Larry’s is our sub restaurant of choice. We have had good luck with this location. We went for a weekday lunch. Parking there can be dicey; beware the giant crater at the lot entrance. This is one of those skinny locations where you constantly have patrons walking by since the ordering register, as well as the drink and condiment station, is toward the rear. Lousy layout, Larry. Our counter cashier was very pleasant and efficient and spoke up enough so you could hear her over the noisy dining room. Our subs were good and substantial and made exactly right. My only quibble with the subs is I prefer the meat to be folded and from end to end, not laid on flat. It is a scientific fact that folded meat on a sub tastes better than flat meat. Went to order takeout today for my wife and myself. She got an 8 inch Italian and I got an 8 inch pepperoni sub. Look at the photos between the difference quantity of meat. I know they weigh their portions, but they were literally literally only four pieces of pepperoni on my pizza. This isn’t the first time it’s been about two years since I’ve been to this location and I remember once I came in and ordered that they skimp on the pizza subs. Southside hook it up with massive amount of pepperoni at least I can remember . I’ll be documenting the portions on that to compare these from the same franchise just different locations. 1st time ordering and last. When I get a ham & Swiss sandwich I ALWAYS ask for the ham to be SHREDDED. NOT A DIFFICULT REQUEST. JUST slice it super thin. My order was awful & ham was thick & cubed (gross) if you can believe that. So disappointed. Shredded ham & Swiss, how can that get screwed up? It did! No vinegar as requested either. My husband picked it up and didn't check it assuming it was a simple order. So now I'm stuck with a 12.00 sandwich I'm not happy with. Going out to get something else.
