Beyond Amazing Food & Service - Literally Saved My Life! (Thank You!)

Words simply cannot express the depth of my gratitude for The Hangout Bar and Grill. This review comes from the absolute bottom of my heart.

First, the food: It is hands-down the best around. Every bite was exceptional, showcasing incredible flavor and quality. It's truly life-changing cuisine that keeps you coming back for more.

Second, the service: The service is genuinely the best I have ever experienced. The staff is attentive, warm, and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for.

But my experience transcended even these incredible standards. During my visit, I suffered a terrifying choking incident on my salmon. In that moment of sheer panic, the staff and even fellow patrons sprang into action with incredible speed and compassion.

To the incredible woman (I wish I knew her name! Management, please pass this on!) who performed the Heimlich maneuver on me: You are my hero. You acted swiftly, calmly, and expertly, saving my life. There are no words sufficient to express the magnitude of my gratitude for what you did. Thank you seems insignificant, but please know it comes with every ounce of my being. I will never, ever forget your kindness and courage. God bless you.

To the entire staff and the kind locals who helped and supported me: Thank you. Your quick response, concern, and care in those critical moments meant the world. You didn't just serve a meal; you showed incredible humanity.

We called ahead and asked if they could host a large party of 30 or so people. They said yes no problem at all. They said they will start setting up for us. We showed up and the place wasn’t busy at all. There was adequate staffing to accommodate the people there and our party that ended up being 26 people. The bartender came over to get our drink order and that was where it ended. No server would come help us out. We ended up having one of our people ask for a notebook. She took everyone’s order from our group and turned it in. We had to get our own refills all night long. The bar tender was the only one that was willing to help. The other waitresses sat back and kept talking or on their phones the entire time. We were told that the waitresses were intimidated by large groups so they refused to wait on us. It took us 1 hour and 45 min before the food started coming out. The kitchen staff did great. The food tasted awesome. Unfortunately the lack of service really turned us off. We are an easy going group that was there to enjoy dinner after our kids softball games. We understand large groups are intimidating but we always try to make it super easy on the wait staff. We received the bill and because of the size of our party they added an auto gratuity. I thought that was crazy they did this since we had to take our own order and had to get our own refills. We would have enjoyed a lot more drinks and increased our ticket sale if we had someone to wait on us which would have lead to a waitress or two making a lot of money. There is a softball/baseball facility down the road from them so you would think the owner would want the business from those events every weekend but I guess it’s money that he doesn’t...

Went last night with family for the first time. My stepdad and I arrived first. We went to the bar to get drinks while we waited for everyone else to get there. The bartender asked us what we wanted and we told her. She then asked if we had a table yet and that our waitress can take our drink orders when we sit. We then asked if we could just get our drinks now while we wait. Later at the table waiting, our waitress had to constantly remind the bartender of the pitcher of beer we were waiting on. After ordering and receiving our orders, my steak was not the steak I ordered. Another person ordered a ribeye and I ordered the New York strip. The waitress took it back to get it fixed. I saw her grab the manager to go to the kitchen. The waitress then came back to me and said the cook said it was the correct steak even though it looked just like the ribeye the other person at my table had. The cook refused to make the correct steak. I ordered something else and felt bad for the waitress. She tried to get it fixed for me. Management obviously wasn’t going to do anything about it.
