Waffle House — Restaurant in Jacksonville

We were greeted at the door by a very friendly young man who sat us down right away. Then we were served by a lady waitress. She was very polite, had a smile on the whole time and was talkative! She was one of the best servers I’ve met. Another person and I in my party ordered biscuits and gravy. Despite the rush of lunchtime we got our order fairly fast but the she explained the gravy was delayed (we got our biscuits). She said it’d be a wait but did we want them anyway. We said yes, we’d wait. No problem! We overheard her ask the manager to cook up some gravy and he told her it’s not a priority. He then kept ignoring her when she’d ask.. which she asked 3 times. We waited about 20-30 mins.. still no gravy. She kept apologizing saying she was very sorry. About another 20-30 mins go by and she asks us again if we wanted it still, so we said “Yes, please”. She then asked the manager again (this time in front of us) how it was coming and this time he said in a very rude tone to her “I’m working on it” then disappeared into the back room. Long story short, after we got our check and was leaving she was kind enough to bring us the gravy in a to go cup. The server at this location was very very kind and apologetic! We had no problem with her. The manager however was rude and unprofessional. If he wasn’t the manager, we would’ve talked to the manager about his attitude. I understand it’s busy but he didn’t handle the situation very well. If you’re in a rush like that, you serve the customers you have and please them first and then they’ll be more likely to leave pleased allowing rooms for others to sit instead of keeping customers on hold forever waiting for something we didn’t get until we were walking out...

Legitimately the worst waffle house experience I've ever had. First, the server told us she couldn't cook our eggs how we requested because she had no cook and only could scramble them. I said I don't eat scrambled eggs and she said she would try which I appreciated. That's where the good service ended. The food (2 all stars) came out piece by piece, first the hash browns (burnt to a crisp), then my bfs waffle came out, then my ham and his eggs. When my eggs came they were so oily and unappetizing and would have been better off scrambled. The ham was so covered in oil that it tasted only of oil and wasn't even edible. We asked twice about that second waffle and it just never came even though we kept being reassured that it was coming. I ended up just getting up to leave and then got to be treated terribly by the staff. When paying I asked if the waffle we never received could at least be removed and was told very rudely that she took off $1 for the missing item. Which honestly based on the fact that I ate zero food and didn't even get half my food was not enough, and I'm pretty sure just a waffle costs more than $1. I left so I'm not sure what my bf ended up paying as I didn't want to continue to be treated so rudely. I don't understand why she was so rude as I explained that I didn't even care about the terrible food as she had tried but the missing waffle and the attitude when I asked about it was completely unacceptable. I have a family member who's pretty high up in the company so I always try to give them my business but I will never be back to this location out of principle. Came in with my son to have breakfast before school sat down at table there where 3 other tables sitting right next to each other that had already ordered had drinks and we're waiting on food I waited 5 mins waitress saw us but never came over my table is 6 feet in front of cash register a gentleman walk in front door straight to register the waitress walks strait over takes his order and he sits at the bar waiting for his food I then wait another 5 mins another gentleman walks in sits at the bar waitress walks up takes his order so I got up interrupted her taking the gentleman order told her thanks for the service I been sitting almost 15 mins no one even bothered to even acknowledge us and both of these gentleman came in way after us but your taking there order thanks for nothing and walked out will not be back horrible service there loss I come once a week with my son but we will just start going to McDonald's across the street instead way cheaper me and my son's breakfast is 20 plus 10 tip everytime so going from 30 to less then 10 at McDonald's I suggest getting some better staff at this location or better management to teach staff how to properly seat and...
