Gorditas Loli's #2 — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

It blows my mind how many so-called “Mexican” restaurants out here are serving Gordita Imposters™. Like...sir, that is a sad taco wearing a girdle, not a real gordita.

Growing up, my gold standard for Mexican food came from the OGs: street vendors and little spots in Mexico where Abuelita is in the back, cooking like she’s feeding all twelve of her grandkids, the mailman, and maybe a few people she disliked! That’s exactly the vibe Lolis gives me. Nothing fancy. No gimmicks. Just a straight-up, ride-or-die Mexican menu that slaps.

The menu? Short and loyal—Gorditas, Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas. That’s it. No need for avocado foam or artisanal beet crema. The fillings? Flavor-packed and familiar. Steak, pork rind, cactus, rajas, cheese, you name it, they’ve got the hits covered.

I rolled in with my pops, and we went in hard. Gorditas for days: Steak & Cheese, Pork Rind with Green Salsa, Rajas con Queso, Shredded Pork in Red Sauce, and the MVP—Cactus, Rajas, and Cheese. We threw in some steak tacos for good measure because, well, balance.

Everything was made to order by this sweet, no-nonsense kitchen queen who gave “grandma that loves you and judges your portion size” energy. She cooked like she was trying to heal our souls, and lowkey, I think she did.

Small space, always buzzing, but still warm and welcoming. The kind of spot where you instantly feel like you’re home, even if you’ve never been.

If you want real-deal, no-frills, make-you-question-every-fusion-taco-you’ve-ever-had Mexican food, Lolis is that spot. 10/10. Would fight traffic and skip lunch just to make room...

I recently visited Gorditas Loli #2 and had an amazing experience! The restaurant offers a wide variety of options, including delicious vegetarian dishes. One of my personal favorites was the potato, cheese, and poblano pepper gordita, which was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. My husband, who is a meat lover, thoroughly enjoyed their carne tacos, which were some of the best he's ever had!

The homemade sauce at Gorditas Loli #2 is absolutely amazing and really elevated the flavors of all our dishes. We couldn't get enough of it, glad they just put the whole sauce bottle in front of us! The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff who were attentive and helpful in making recommendations.

The only downside is that the prices have gone up significantly, making it difficult for us to visit as often as we'd like to. However, the quality of the food and the overall experience is definitely worth the splurge once in a while.

Overall, I highly recommend Gorditas Loli #2 to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Mexican food, including great vegetarian options. It's a five-star restaurant that truly delivers on all fronts!

The older guy worker overcharge us on our stuff even though he was the one taking our oder. When I notice it was too much I ask about "how much it would have been for the food" over the phone because we've gone home and the older guy answers and he starts raising his voice because he put it in the system and charge me. I got my refund and when I mentioned his tone of voice mind you I was on speaker so everyone I was with heard him, he said "I didn't raise my voice" and that I should have been "specific" when talking. Not the first time he's messed up. Good food but want if you to be overcharge, get shouted at, gaslighted, also find big chunks of bone in your food, and have terrible...
