Nothing is better than finding cheap eats that are actually good! #lunchtime #cheapeats #chicago #polish #deli

I purchased a prepared chicken noodle soup/ rosol from the Montrose Ave. location. As my dad was eating the soup, he felt something sharp near his throat, so he quickly examined his mouth and found a nail!!! I phoned the store to inform them of this situation, and the main line was given to a man who identified himself as a manager. I explained the incident and he confirmed that he will investigate and contact me accordingly. As expected, I haven't received a return call, an apology, or intent to rectify the situation. I hate to imagine what would happen if my father swallowed the nail! Clearly, the management does not care about cleanliness or customer safety and satisfaction. What angers me more than the incident, is the lack of responsiveness from the store. So, there you have it everyone, zupa z gwozdzia.

Small Polish/European market with a lot of offerings. Montrose Deli offers typical deli meats, sausages and cheeses as well as other meal making meats that aren't frozen. They have fresh produce, a variety of breads and sweets brought in from local bakeries. They also have European grocery items, spices, Turkish coffee and European chocolates. They have added a great many prepared items such as salads, soups, meats, stuffed cabbage and pierogies. The aisles are rather tight but workable. Definitely worth a stop. There are two uncovered parking lots available.

We ordered the Highlander Hut (Góralska chatka/wiejski stół) for cocktail hour and also barszcz and krokiety for later in the evening. It was the hit of the night and we still had so many leftovers we were able to have people over the next day. The presentation looked incredible and really added a special aesthetic to our wedding. There was also a worker we hired from Montrose deli to take care of the hut and the whole setup for the night, and it was absolutely the best choice. Everything was clean, plates were set up and meats were continuously being cut and served, and we didn't even need to think about when the late night snack arrived. Our American and Polish guests both loved it, and my family from Poland said it was hilarious that they had to fly all the way from Poland to have such good, authentic Polish meats which are hard to find even back home. I highly recommend this special touch for any wedding. Ania, the coordinator, is so perisbacke and easy to work with I will absolutely be contacting her for...

I am 100% agree with all these one star reviews on here, this polish grocery store is terrible and ALL the employees here are racist. One guy who works in here, forced me to speak in polish language with him. When I said that I don't speak polish, he gave me a dirty looks and left, leaving me to stand there without any service. If you are a polish customer then you will be fine, but if you are an American customer then you will receive a very bad customer service with negative and aggressive attitude along with their spoiled and expired foods. Please, beware!Under any circumstances do NOT buy their polish sausages because they taste spoiled and disgusting. This store is very dirty and Unsanitary. The polish employees NEVER change their gloves.Absolutely ALL the employees in this polish store are rude aggressive and mean.Neither of them speaks a word in English or they PRETEND they don't speak English. If you are American then please avoid this BAD polish store like a...

If you have no time to cook you go to Montrose deli and for $4 you can buy an entire homemade meal, a selection of three main dish and two side dishes. That can be cabbage rolls, pollack, chicken drumsticks, pork stew, mashed or baked potatoes, beets, carrots and peas etc. Also, you can buy cooked pork, fish, chicken by pound. You can find here a refrigerator full with pies and homemade cakes, donuts, a variety of fresh polish breads, fresh milk products and milk, butter and other products imported from Poland and Europe, fresh fruit and veggies, fresh meat and deli. The store saves me many trips to bigger label stores, a lot of time because I can get so many things from there, all fresh. If you don't get bother because not everyone there speaks English, and because they don't fake a smile always, you will save time and money, and not be...
