Portillo's Chicago - Addison — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

Edit: I wanted to see just how bad the service is at this location was because they seem to always screw up my orders. So over the last many months I went to this location 10 separate times through the drive thru and in 8 of those times my order was screwed up. The only orders they completed correctly were when I ordered just a hot dog and fries. They ask you if you want cheese with your fries but it's not a guarantee it'll be in your bag when you leave, trust me on that. Want a side of gravy with your beef? Better check your bag before you drive away to make sure it's there like you ordered. The orders are printed right on the receipt that's taped to the bag they hand you. They even repeat the order back to you but I promise your order is not all in that bag despite them reading it back to you as if it is. I am one person so it's not like I am not ordering a ton of stuff - my meals there usually cost around $20 (which is outrageous for the quality of food). I have called this location three separate times for items I paid for but didn't receive (2x they forgot a hot dog I had ordered and 1x they forgot nuggets) when you call to let them know they screwed up there's nothing that they can do for some reason except tell you they will refund you and to check your account to make sure it goes through. Two of these times the refund never went through but I didn't call them back because I assume they'd just tell me to check my account in a few days and call back again if it didn't go through and I didn't really want to start that idiotic process again. Unfortunately this place sucks a lot. 80% of my orders with them for the last like 6 months have been screwed up in some way. I will not be going back to this place and I suggest anyone reading this skip it. Portillos quality went down a lot so if you're from out of town and want to try one of those big named Chicago beef spots do Buona or Al's instead.

Picked up a beef sandwich and fries in the drive thru last night at around 10pm. Got home and the gravy had leaked all the way through the paper bag my food came in so when I picked the bag up gravy spilled all over the front seat of my car, my lap, and shirt. The beef sandwich and fries then fell through the soaked bottom of the bag onto the street ruining the food, obviously. I called this location to let them know they suck at packaging beef and after the phone ringing for a while the call ended/I was hung up on. I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for this one but I'm going to say that Buona beef has the better beef in the city out of all the places that you can go and I'm thinking of texture and flavor Buona I always hits the spot. With that being said if you're a true Italian beef connoisseur you know who sketchell's is you know what Al's is and you obviously have been to portillo's if you're here reading this right now! You know that the beef situation is something not to be underestimated it can come in all of these different flavor profiles all of these different textures and I would like to give this one four stars I feel like the viscosity of the meat is what throws me it's kind of gritty it's not a smooth bite through beef but that may be a personal preference so I would love for people to give me some type of feedback on what are you expecting when you're eating an Italian beef are you putting cheese on it or is that blasphemy do you add hot peppers and sweet peppers or are we just keeping it classic do you elevated with other things like mustard and relish what's your forte? Portillo's is classic I feel like if you're looking for the classic flavors and never being disappointed if you don't want to buy bundles of meals and you like buying things à la carte this is always going to be the place to go The service is always superbalist there's nothing else to say about it it's always top notch they're always available accessibility hands down is going to be the best place to go find the beef this particular location had a very sweet lady at the drive-thru she was very patient and I like the things that all of the employees they are very patient and implement that due to the fact that they're being treated correctly and for that standpoint I think the company is awesome! It's a classic Chicago standpoint and if you're looking for more of a textured home style beef versus a calculated beef I would say go here because there's a little more freedom with what you can experiment with and you'll get a different texture of me do the different cuts of meat when you come versus bueno like I said the consistency is that shaved me that's coming through the texture of the meat in itself and that's the only reason why I would go with Buena over this any otherwise than that maybe they should do a...

DO NOT ORDER CATERING IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT YOUR GUESTS TO EAT. I ordered catering per instructions on website on 4/18/23- from the Addison chicago location. Scheduled for delivery on 6/13/23 for 615pm delivery. My card was charged the full order amount on 4/19/23- including $29.99 for delivery and $120 for tip. This was for my wedding.

Prior to walking down the aisle on 6/13 at 630pm, I was told that the food had not even left the Addison location yet. As of 645pm, the Addison location did not have a scheduled time of delivery, so we had someone pick up the order. This shifted our event and the food finally arrived and was served around 745pm.

Due to the lack of delivery and the delay of service and fixed time for space rental, not all of the food was able to be served. Moreover, the garden dogs were sent plain, the fries were not well done (as ordered), and the cakes were packed on their side.

The Addison manager offered apologies and some cards for free dessert and sides (which is laughable at best and doesn't even cover the delivery and tip for the service they failed to provide).

I was able to have a conversation with Nick, the Addison manager, on 5/15, promising a solution. He even provided me his cell number. Despite multiple attempts to contact him by cell and just calling the catering number at Addison, I have not been able to speak to anyone. This matter is not resolved. I'm very unsatisfied with the quality of food and service from Portillos. I'm even more unsatisfied with the customer service in response to Addison's failure. Still waiting on a response...
